Hi. Dont know if this has been asked a million times, but I have a receptor with the full 2 gig ram, and I am wondering how Stylus RMX runs on it?: I am thinking of buying, but dont want to, if there is a serious midi delay, or noticeable voice stealing etc going on. I have found these annoying problems to happen with the DFH stuff, and wont buy RMX if this is the case. Any advice/experience reports would be greatly appreciated

Hi Krishna,

Stylus RMX runs great on Receptor.
it's quite snappy and fast at 128k buffer

BTW ... What kind of problems are you hearing with DFH ?

I don't know what problems you have with DFH, but RMX is working great on my Receptor (2G RAM, I recommend this for ALL serious users)

Yep, runs great - the only slightly (VERY slightly) annoying thing is that when you first press the E button on whatever channel you have RMX instantiated in, it takes a while to load the GUI the first time - I think it must just be a large image or something. Not a big deal, and otherwise it runs beautifully.

Watto, that's pretty normal fpor RMX - I have it installed oon three other computers - 2 PCs and a Mac - and they all do the same thing...

Hmmm - I use it pretty much daily on my studio computer, and haven't noticed it doing that - definitely not as badly as on Receptor, anyway

Hi kris
The version you can run on receptor is 1.2.1 not the updated 1.5.1
If I'm wrong please correct me.
I try to use RMX live with a MalletKat EXpress and novation sl 37.
I have RMX loaded on to "midi chanels" and the receptor is working
hard.I have ver. B 2 gigs of ram.
I have ask for the update the past two month but nothing yet.
I dont now how to get use of rmx multitimbral( you can only send to one midi channel per. channel on receptor or am I wrong again then please tell me.

You can send to multiple channels by selecting 'All' and 'Thru' in the midi selection dialog. If you don't need all 16 channels, don't instantiate anything in RMX on those channels, you can then use some other instrument on the unused channels.

NOTE: I only use one channel on Receptor in my RMX configurations, and my other installs are all 1.6, so it may be that the earlier version does not do lultichannel. In that case, just load another instance of RMX, if RAM will handle it.

Hi Soundsmith and others
I have some questions:

NOTE: I only use one channel on Receptor in my RMX configurations, and my other installs are all 1.6,

what version or rmx do you have?
how did you update rmx on receptor?

have a nice day

Did NOT update on Receptor, it's the same as the one dl'ed from Plugorama. I haven't explored the limits of it yet, all the RMX loops I run work together and I control them from the Axiom 61 buttons to start-stop tracks inside RMX. A bit clumsy, but not too bad.

Hmm .. this thread is making me think ..

I *just* got a receptor and am in the process of getting all my plugins installed (at least the ones that I can). Unfortunately it's a bit more challenging as I'm a Mac user, and used primarily AU versions of my software toys. RMX is next on my list after a successful Atmosphere installation, but .. for some reason Spectrasonics *doesnt* make the .dll file available on it's site for RMX like it did for Atmosphere, so was planning on contacting customer support ... but I would assume anything they might do for me (send me the file or make it available on the site) would be the current 1.5 version.

I'll get in touch with them anyway and see what they will do, but is there some other source for that windows 1.2.1 dll? maybe someone could email it to me if Spectrasonics doesn't come through?

Soundsmith, I have been trying to do this start/stop action witht the buttons on my axiom 49 but I have not been successful so far; The best I have been able to do is assign a button that starts the loop but once I release the button the loop stops. What I would like to do is have a button that starts the loops and stops on the next hit; Is this what you are doing?

Many Thanks In advance.

Phil.

There are many ways to set up the buttons on the Axiom. (and remember, if you DO get it right, RMX won't stop till the end of the bar or beat, depending on its own settings, so if you are transiting on a barline, it may seem as tho it didn't work. But probably you just need to set up the switch differently. Seems to me I did a MIDI Learn on the button on RMX and Axiom, and the Axiom was set to toggle on/off with each keypress. I'm having issues with my Enigma box, can't get it to read the Axiom for some reason, so I can't verify just which cc should be assigned, but I think I just assigned a button to an unused cc number with a toggle of 146 and a press/release set of 127/0. The other option is to use a cc with 127/0, but that would require two presses to complete an on-off cycle.

Good luck, RMX is a very complex instrument and I am just beginning to link the Axiom and Receptor to it.
