I think this was the plan right from the beginning.A3ntar wrote: What do you guys think?
Every developer will tell you that all they need is no cracks in the first 6 month after the introduction to maximize profits.
OK I am half joking but I won't be surprised if the truth is somewhere in between this and some other factors.
IK is not a high end niche company, it's a big company that wants to go after the masses and now they will.

By the way, as you all probably noticed I am a big AmpliTube2 fan but now I took it into the next level.
I purchased a real tube DI:
http://www.proaudiosolutions.com/Produc ... UBES-BRICK

What can I say..... I can not explain it in words....
It's simply beyond all my expectations.....
Everything just "sounds right" at any settings......
Even my noise levels are way down....
So that's it! THE BRICK with AmpliTube2 is all I need!
I am selling everything else.
Anybody interested in SansAmp PSA-1?
SansAmp GT-2?
If so just PM me.

I purchased it here:A3ntar wrote:Sweet! How much did that bastard cost you?
What sound card are you plugging it into?

I go into an ART AD converter then out via SPDIF into AudioPhile 2496.
The Brick has enough gain to go into any line input on any audio card or mixer.

Andrew, out of curiousity how does the brick hold up as a pre-amp (mic'ing guitars, vocals, drums, etc)? I've got a Grace 101 which is known as being super clean, but wouldn't mind picking up a good "character pre" at some point.

The Brick of course adds that "fat tube" sound to the source.
The gain control acts like a "Dial-O-Fat" control.
Combining it in series with the Grace, or any other clean mic pre is ideal because with the two gains you can blend in as much or as little "tube fat" as you wish.
I am looking into this as well for the future.
Right now I have my eyes on the RNP from FMR Audio:
http://www.fmraudio.com/RNP8380.htm
I will record some samples with different settings of the "Dial-O-Fat" when I get a chance and post it here.
I think you will understand the whole idea immediately.

That's great. Looks pretty portable. I'll bet you could stuff that thing right down in the backpack with your laptop and interface and cables and be the envy of the neighborhood studio crowd when you waltz in with no amp in hand. I'd pray at your feet if I were running the session. No amps means less hassle. Still as much setup time, even more if you run into a finicky little "shit", but usually you can talk them into a pretty decent sound without too much fuss after about 20 minutes worth of twiddling. That's everything to me, since most of the recording that I do is demo work, on a package rate, instead of an hourly charge. It's heaven in a box I'd say. I'm gonna buy one just for this purpose. Tell the little weasles to leave their amps at home, bring cash so you can pay me immediately.AndrewSimon wrote: The Brick has enough gain to go into any line input on any audio card or mixer.
Off we go!
