212 pages! A serious contender (if there wasn't that goddamn AT2 thread...).

Odd, with a community of mostly electronic musicians, the longest threads are about guitar amps.

Hey good idea Hink.Hink wrote:you know, since this thread started I have bought two tube guitar amps and a POD xt live
Since this thread started, I've bought a new guitar, a GI-20, wondered about whether to buy software or hardware guitar effects, eventually bought a VG88, emigrated and wrote a book (not in that order).
Looking forward to this sim

Now where have I heard that before?Looking forward to this sim
I've bought a truckload of gear since this thread
started but definitely in spite of it not because
of it.
I've got just one word for midiworks: ReValverMkII

Would you buy it even if it wasn't? God forbid you discovered a bug, how long do you think it would take to get fixed?

To fix anything, whatever it might be will not take long at all.
But I still don't want any bugs in the first place.
I had just been trying this other product....
and I was really wondering why I put so much love and efforts into my work,
I was laughing my a** off, because this is really just a joke.
They could not have done you and me a better favour,
then releasing a dongle free version at this time.
Don't worry, there won't be in another XmasTube,
it will be much, much better instead.
I know the clock is ticking and time is running fast.
Now I will shut up and only talk again when I put up.
Cheers,
René
PS. After this "dongle free demo experience",
I wonder if I shouldnt double or even triple the price...
No, even if that would still be a cheap and justified price,
compared to anything else out there,
I still want that everyone can afford it.

That, coming from a developer telling us almost 2.5 years ago that the amp would be "almost" done. That, coming from a developer not even trying to get a halfway reliable bunch of testers together. FWIW, since this thread started, I have successfully asked (or been asked) to become a betatester for 3 other amp sims (2 commercial, 1 free one). Oh yeah, you have asked me as well - when was that? I'm too lazy to look at my PMs because it's pathetic already.Midiworks wrote:To fix anything, whatever it might be will not take long at all.
You can see the joke potential in all that, can't you, René?
So, you wouldn't admit that a product that quite some people seem to be happy with is better than *no* product at all?I had just been trying this other product....

Might be. But nobody will listen to you anymore as all your credibility is down the shitter.Don't worry, there won't be in another XmasTube,

Hear, hear...I know the clock is ticking and time is running fast.
So you'll be silent for another 2 years or so?Now I will shut up and only talk again when I put up.
You should indeed do that. After all, zero sales of a product for 200 bucks make no difference to zero sales of a product for 600.PS. After this "dongle free demo experience",
I wonder if I shouldnt double or even triple the price...

After that comment, I'm convinced that even if this product is real, Rene is really just after money - trying to cash in on the latest trend, amp modelling.
It makes sense to me.
Here's a guy who spends all his time doing "marketing" - telling us how groundbreaking his product is, how better than the competition it is - without even offering anything of worth about the plugin. We've not even seen more than one screenshot iirc.
This is a guy who talks then walks, and comes back a few months later, says the same thing, then walks again.
I'm not convinced he has any kind of passion for guitar playing, guitar music, or music in any sense.
I am convinced that he has a passion for making a fast buck.

Okay, even though I don't want to, I feel I have to respond to this.
It is always the same handful of people that are trying to discredit
whatever I say or do.
To be honest, sometimes I really feel insulted,
but then again I am thinking about all the people that are reading this topic here,
silently in the background.
They are waiting in silence, thanks to all of you,
you know who you are.
Amberience what you just wrote is simply ridiculous.
Over two years of work, okay with breaks, doesn't look quite like a quick buck.
Sure I could have released the amplifire a long time ago
but it would not have become that special.
Without even offering anything of worth about the plugin you say ?
I really suggest, that people should be downloading the AT2 and GR2 demo,
then if they have a copy of XmasTube, simply place an EQ
and whatever effects you like
after XmasTube then simply play the guitar.
Don't forget to set up the response simulator so it feels naturally,
like a real amplifier when you play.
Then go and record a track and compare to the other products.
First you will realise the difference in sound quality,
secondly you will feel that all your expression is truefully reproduced,
while the other products all simply sound and feel lifeless.
And yes by the way, you can choose whatever pick up position you like,
your guitar tone will never been transformed into a flute.
(I guess you all understand what I am talking about.)
You don't have to take my word for it, you can try and compare this by yourself.
If you don't have a copy of XmasTube, PM me and I will provide you with a one.
After you have done your A/B comparing you will probably also laugh your a** off
and understand what I was talking about.
The difference is just huge.
And I was talking here about a VST that I have released for FREE 11 months ago,
that is using the old modelling engine and that is missing many of the new features.
Only when you switch between XmasTube and the other products you can really
hear, feel and appreciate the difference.

sorry rene, I'm not passionate enough about guitars for your "amplifire"...did you ever stop and think instead of attacking the people who keep pointing out flaws in your total crap business plan perhaps an apology is in order? Personally I don't think you should be allowed to do business here at all...I would like to see an online petition to get you banned from selling your products here.
Anyone who buys from you is taking large risks imho...and I will point it out to those who come along after this thread goes away...they must be warned...DO NOT BUY FROM YOU...I just cannot believe that you put the blame on us again...we did nothing but talk the truth.
The comment in the thread about the doubler saying that your "amplifire" was for those who are passionate about guitar is very wrong and every single person interested in your product needs to know just what kind of businessman you're not before they risk their hard earned money.
As a person Rene I like you, as a programmer you seem to show something...but you're not a businesman. You still owe every guitarist you insulted with that comment an apology...that was lame and out of line...and then you jump on Andy? Blame the one who is at fault YOU

Rene's words in the doubler thread...page 5 I believe (maybe 4, I just woke up.)
So when you accuse me of not being passionate, when this thread started I had just the POD2.0, Sansamp and rack rig (4x12 too)
...but waith there is more, I also bought

Plus a Jackson Kelly and an Ovation....and before that I was in good shape...you owe us an apology sir, you really do.
I adjusted the size so it wont be missed...apologize dude...you owe us all that much...be honset, admit you had struggles, admit you were wrong and act like the businessman you pretend to be...jees we have heard every excuse from this above to it's done but you need a break.Midiworks wrote:
