In the past I've always been defending you (at least to a certain extent), but all your non-stopping "My amp will beat EVERYTHING out there by miles" is just getting f**king ANNOYING.
Your amp might beat every other amp in the world, but I will NEVER tell anybody to buy it from you because you are one of the most unreliable sofware developers out there, as it seems.
Small byproducts as the VST host or mic positioner won't help you at all.

Over two years of work, okay with breaks, doesn't look quite like a quick buck.
Sure I could have released the amplifire a long time ago
but it would not have become that special.

Rene, please, get it into your head: YOUR PRODUCT IS NOT GOING TO BE SPECIAL!

It may have some specialness to yourself, but the rest of us, the chance for "special" went a long time ago.

Look at Hink's gear, I'm sure Sascha has a lot of gear as well. I'm sure most guitarists on the site have gear that they think is really good and that suits them very well.

I myself have a combo amp that has a beautiful distortion channel. I have a really nice Digitech distortion pedal (the Hot Head) that I bought for £30. I have a ProCo rat that I bought for pittence also.

On top of that I have Izotope Trash and the many many free effects that work for guitar.

Your product is not unique. Even if it does have everything in one place, it doesn't have anything we don't already have - it just DOES NOT. There is no argument.

So stop trying to con people into thinking you're offering the latest and greatest when in fact Xmastube was pretty generic sounding (in my opinion) and the screenshot (note the lack of plural) you have offered is also generic.

There was a time I was looking forward to your product, but now? Well, I just post in this thread to while away the time. I am no longer interested, and I don't think other people should be either.

actually I hope it does come out, I'll download the demo...I'll write an honest review too...and part of that review will be quotes from him and his questionable business practices will be trumpeted as well as praises and flaws in the sim.

Note for Rene...here's what my list of things would be

1. apologize to us instead of blaming us
2. get a real business partner, one that can help you on your shortcomings in the business area.
3. apologize to us instead of blaming us
4. release the sim with a complimentary free download period as a good faith measure for those who witnessed this. (it might be worth it if your sim is good enough to impress us who feel scorned)

So IMHO thats what this thread is all about: Marketing, the very special way!

Btw: the improved new Gratifier amp in Guitar Rig 2.2 sounds very close to Rene's amp. Nice work NI!

As Amberience said, yes, I do have quite some fine equipment (both software and hardwarewise, among it some Boogie Mark IV, a Twin, several overdrive pedals, some (guitar) preamps and whatnot).
In addition, when this thread started, I was basically not using any software amp sims at all (apart from those that are wrapped in a hardware box, such as my POD, VAmp or GT5).
Meanwhile, I got three almost complete setups suitable for low impedance guitar inputs and very low latencies. Along with them I got almost more virtual amps than to poke a stick at (some commercial, some free) and with the modularity offered by things such as Energy XT or NIs Kore, I can as well configure extremely flexible (and good sounding) amp setups.
So, one could say I've been pretty much in the market for such stuff. The same could most likely be said for people like Hink, Amberience, Andrew Simon and probably a lot others.
But right now, I'm almost sorted. I would probably get another plugin if it really was *the* shit, though. But I'd only buy it from a developer that I'd trust in.
And there's no need for it at all right now. I can get really nice guitar sounds with what I have.

Oh yeah, as Hink already mentioned, I also find it absolutely ridiculous to see things such as "you are all not passionate about good guitar sounds" coming from someone who (as said before) doesn't even have a suitable guitar and soundcard chain to start with on his own.

bduffy, I must admit, because of comments like the one above,
I lost a lot of energy and pasion about the amp sim.
There are a few people that already play and use my amplifier for quite some time.
I was not joking six months or more ago, that the amplifier is basically finished.
I am really building this amplifier for people who are passionate about
guitar sound and recording.
The others can use guitar rig or amplish..em..tube.

So my comment was indirectly directed to the person who insulted me without any reason in a absolutely not guitar related topic.

I hope this clears things up now and makes my reaction more understandable.

I don't see why those who claim they basically have their needs covered still take time to post in this thread, telling how much they hate Rene's attitude. Why don't you simply ignore the thread and come back when its title changes to "It's released - In memory of our fellow KVRists who passed away in the meantime" (well that part is speculation)?
Now it's a bit over the top to feel insulted by the "passionate about guitars" comment... but to post all those pictures of gear and say "apologize", it's elementary school all over again.
On the other hand, it's not cool to diss the other products on the market when you don't offer a tangible alternative... and even if you did Rene, keep in mind that respecting the competition means respecting the consumer and his ability to choose for himself.

The fact this thread is still alive makes me think, be it lovers or haters, everyone posting in here secretely hopes he/she'll get to try the amp. Just a theory.

dude I'm far from childish, If you read what I said..I said apologize instead of blaming us...note how important the instead part is...now go read in the doubler thread where he blames us who keep this going and being why it's not released instead of owning up to not being able to complete this project...where I come from when someone can't live up to his word an apology and a word of explanation is exactly what a man does...not elementary school at all...get it? Look at the date...in two days it will be 28 months and countless excuses. That's just wrong dude and here where we are sitting ducks for scams we need to be as diligent as we can to discourage scam artists...I am not dissing anything except for an extremely poor business attitude (please show where I said anything bad about the xmas tube). So please keep your disses for someone who deserves them...I think everyone should know that Rene (who I keep saying over and over I like as a person) has broken every promise made...I've said it before and I'll say it again...let our gaurds down, be complacent and then the reputation of KVR will be gone...it will be remembered by a few scams and not all the good...I really like KVR...deal with it.

FWIW I'm not saying this is a scam (I don't think it is), I am simply saying this is unacceptable by any standard in any business and we should put out feet down to discourage others from seeing an opportunity to pull a scam...it would be too easy to scam us, with say with a group buy on something and be gone before anyone knew or could do anything...this imo is essential to the survival of KVR to have people who will be as passionate as us in saying "THIS IS WRONG"...you don't have to read it, but when I deal with a business I expect professionalism...perhaps you should spend a week reading this thread and seeing all the excuses.

That's why I offer up solutions as well and an apology is exactly what should be done...he should lead off defensive, he should apologize and apologize often (at least if he wants customers) and give real reasons..be honest, because something is not meshing here...his excuses make no sense at all...I should not expect an apology from someone who has deceived me on more than one occasion?

and no secret about it, I did want this to come out and I hope it still does, I always pull for the little guy...but he will need to mend the fences he broke down here first before anyone should get their credit card out...I'm not sure where you're from, but where I'm from that starts with an apology...not excuses and not finger pointing from him.
