you shouldn't have droped the dongle
IMHO, loosing the dongle is the smartest move IKMM have done lately.

I know at least 5 people that have baught Amplitube 2 since IKMM lost their dongle, and I am seriously thinking of buying it myself, I am just taking my time to demo the most I can in my 10 days of trial.

I agree. There will always be a case for the other perspective, but overall I think that this is the smartest move IKMM could have made for the largest number of people.

Man I hate that coupled noise gate. Whenever I change presets it resets itself. I wish there would be a way of unlinking the noise gate from the preset. Maybe a check box or something that wouldn't make the noise gate reload every time you load a preset.

It's just like that in GR2.

Sascha, I have the demo of GR2 running right now on my system, but changing presets doesn't seem to override/modify the "Noise Reduction" module.

All I see is a small animation on the "threshold" knob ( like a glitch or something ) but my noise reduction is the same as before.

With AT2 the noise gate gets changed for good.

Yeah sorry, I meant it was just like what you wished - the input noise gate not being overwritten that is.
Very useful (the automatic input adjustment is as well) when dealing with different guitars.

I see. You are 100% right, that automatic adjustment is fantastic.

N.I. is clearly better than IKMM when it comes to general purpose algorithms like Time Stretching, Pitch shifting, Noise filtering, etc... Although with AT2 IKMM nailed some ampli emu sounds to a new level.

In an ideal world where I would have unlimited funds, I would have an XTL, an AT2 and a GR2 for all these funky synthetized effects and the sweet high gains.

2 licenses wasted on a nigth, the old ones don't go with the new update... next january\february, a new machine, one more license to go... if i install a new grafic card or more RAM... probably another one.

I'm not liking!! no, no. A simple serial please or back to dongle.
oh and the foot thingy, is it ready or perhaps?

Post

Exchanging the grafic card shouldn't do anything. Same for more RAM, other disks, etc.
On a proper challenge/response system, only exchanging the mainboard should make authorizations invalid.

Well, I bougth something with a EULA or something like this, whitin the life cycle of the current upgrade devs decided that the people who trust dongles are served, now it's time to get those dongle haters.

Do you think if i reinstall the OS the same license would fit? I don't want to try it! supose i go for Vista or something, another frigging license wasted?

I didn't pay for this...

it happens that some people prefer dongles to Q&A... I will never buy a Native Instrument whatever they do... Now i got this slimy BS scheme to put up with. i want to be free to install it whereever and whenever i fill or need to.

stag, you make me feel like i am in the bizzaro world or something.

Opinions are like Assholes.
Some people are of the opinion that other people are assholes, & vice versa & those Assholes also have opinions.
I may be talking out of my asshole - opinions (obviously) may differ.

Post

Off course this an opinion... okay, buying software based on the "quality" of the protection scheme is pretty stupid... I bougth AT2 because IMO is the best AmpSim.
On top bettwen a dongle and Q&A, give me the dongle please. Not that i like it, i'm pretty paranoid about losing them, taking care of them it's my responsability however.

I love NI stuff as much as the next guy. I mean, I don't use GR2 but Kontakt, Reaktor, Absynth, Battery... you gotta love that stuff! But, it is too broad a statement to say NI is clearly better at those things... maybe in this app for you but generally speaking it could be the other way around... eg. S.T.R.E.T.C.H. vs. Tone Machine. I think both companies are fantastic and two of the best in the industry. It's hard to compare. I usually use products from either depending on what I need. If you think about hardware guitar gear it is common for musicians to have amps, stomps and other gear from multiple manufacturers to get different sounds and features. So if you have both in your set up then that's just more flexibility for you. A good way to think about it as opposed to thinking either/or (which some may... but there's no need to since they are all plug-ins to add to your system and can co-exist).
