wish I could get a thread going like this about a product I actually made! lol
It's all in the three exclammation points :)
Aha!!! ;) Thanks for the tip. Or maybe you have the midas touch. Listen can you start a thread something like "R.A.W. Gold Edition -dongle-less-less version has been RELEASED this month!!!" ? Thanks dude. Much appreciation.

(btw, it is available at www.esoundz.com and if you want to play guitar over some righteous drum grooves then you know where to go! ha! Actually at least the Vintage Rock R.A.W. title with the Led Zep grooves on it might be just what some peeps were looking for in rock drum loops... might as well check it out! Gave this thread something else to think about for a sec! lol)

what's amplitube?
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

T! The guitars sound great. Nice and thick. The drums... well... ummmm. I generally like BFD but a lot of BFD tracks I hear don't sound as good as... well I can't say "our drums" without it sounding sort of ummm... Well, anyway, you were just screwing around and obviously having a lot of fun! Thanks for posting. Chunky guitar. You made the presets yourself or did you use factory ones?
:hihi: ah yes, drummer extraordinaire!!! those were just stock loaded bfd sounds - dry as a bone. i've got a saved template on BFD with effects on them and they sound really good. i guess i should have used my saved ST2 template (i do have one) for a complete IK demo!! :P

The AT2 sound i just dailed in real quick - i actually read the manual to see what amps and cabinets were modeled (for the first time... ) Guitars are only double tracked too - again no effects what so ever. Just the amp and the cabinet - a touch of reverb from the amp. no stomp boxes, no rack effects, no external EQ.

Sorry to tarnish your 300th page, but the Amplitube v2 demo crashes energyXT.
Intallation is fine, but it crashed violently at the first note played.
WinXP. Latest eXT.
Works in Chainer.
History is full of two kinds of people.

.. ah, 300! this page can't be without me .. :hihi:

anyway, my bet is that AT2 will be released in summer 2007 .. :)

Hehehe
It worked for me in Chainer too, but crashed after about 10-15 minutes.

Maybe the "unofficial" version is more stable. But i'm not interested enough to check. :|

My V-AMp Pro gives me the sound i want, doesn't crash and boots up more than 100 times faster than Windows XP + host + Amplitube2.

amplitube schmamplitube, where's the dongleless ampeg svx? that's the one software i'm almost sure to buy, providing it doesn't suck. which going on how good amplitube is i'm thinking it prolly won't.

Post

Okay i admit this release runs a lot much better, less crashes, running smoothly 8 instances at 256 samples on C4 with a Ozonic.
The masses are asking now for the STOMP I\O... yesterday was late, you know?!

IK used to post that all registered users from Sept 1 2005 on would get free upgrades to V2. However, this blurb appears to have been wiped away. I didn't get mine. Instead I got a note from IK stating how much the upgrade cost. Like they say, "Empty phrases are a step from a lie."

Do you think that the reason why they could not make their deliverables was because they were too busy fragmenting their product base (i.e. Amplitude 1 _> Bass version, Guitar version) to increase profits? Methinks.

GR2 is the better bang for the buck IMHO. Does IK even have their pedal out, or are they trying to come up with different versions (i.e. bass/guitar?) LoL :hihi:

First of all, I love the truck (signature)! (My brother is a deisel mechanic.)

I happen to see that you are working along the same path- buy Amplitude, but use something else. What a curiosity? FYI: I did the same thing. In fact, I did the same thing with Sampletank...another bench warmer.

BTW, sorry to hear that V2 has not been all that it was hyped. It's definitely a pain in the wallet to go through this, as most of us are well aware.

Post

Well to be fair I bought GR2 and rarely use it, only time I do is for the occasional wacky sound effect. After figuring out how to mic my amp properly I'm pretty much over amp sims. I've not been able to get one to sound as good as the real thing.

A software dedicated solely to bass amp sims sounds fantastic, though. I always record bass direct, so that's something I could get some real mileage out of.
