Now THAT is cool! BUT - you MUST make it so you can have two separate strings of effects on each amp, so you can not only crossfade between amps, but effects too!!
The big down side to that is CPU :( That would be a lot of crap happening at once! two complete amps w\speakers and two fx chains, plus the trigger to do the crossfade! could be a bit steep? but I do plan to make a couple different versions! so who knows?

Thanks SuperFly76 and also lethe! went and got a copy :) Top of page 39 :D

Talking about the Feedback function, seems to me one version of such an effect would be an octave (+12 or +24 or more?) effect with a slow attack, in it's most simplified form. But the then the waveform would need to be a bit more sine wavish and compressed. So would splitting the signal and sending one path to an octave effect in a compressor with an (adjustable) slow attack with a the top-end shaved off a little give a resonably similar effect?

My only exposure to such a VST type "effect" is the one in Slayer2 which works very well, even though the triggering is a bit of apple and oranges to FreeAmp, of course.

Seems like this would work to me, for at least one version of the effect. I dunno, just thinking out loud...

FreeAmp needs LED sweeps like KITT in Teh Knight Rider or Cylons in Teh Battlestar Galactic

It would be lovely if the feedback would perform similar to the boss feedbacker/distortion pedal. I use this all the time to hold a note, and then provide a harmony to that note by playing over the top. For instance hold an e, and play the e one octave higher...

Freeamp really needs a pitch shifter for the synth anyhow! so I will save this post and see what I can come up with? BTW I put out a few gate plugins a week or so ago "slowbeer" spent the last couple days trying to improve there response and (I think I did it) :D
Should have the new plugins out soon "Gate Plus" They will be used as the noise gate for Freeamp and the best part of them is they will also act as the auto envelope you had asked for? Plus they use less CPU then the exsisting FreeAmp gate, and can be used to trigger all kinds of fun things throughout the amp! including the auto wah, sync for the flanger and phaser and I can also use them for the trigger of guitsyn, saving even more CPU :D

Sounds fantastic! Can't wait to see/hear the new FreeAmp too!

and maybe a suitable voice and AI to ask questions and stuff...!! :p

FreeAmp 2 was amazing, the only needed thng is to make it mo CPU friendly (running broken 486)

Just want to add a bit, FreeAmp has been ace so far (I use it live with my bass guitar), however when using it in a sequencer (FL Studio) I get the occasional stutter, even when the CPU is barely being used (10-20%).

I'd like to try and figure out what's causing that, so perhaps you want to try it out in FL Studio?

I can confirm that! It's also present in the bass amps, so perhaps something that is common to both apps is the key to solving it.

Also, in addition to the feedback thing, I'd love to see FA3 have some really tone-heavy clean Fender amp approaches.

How about adding the ability to control effects with a pitch or mod wheel? Lay down a track, go back and throw down on some wah with the pitch or mod wheel on a separate midi track. Would be cool to do some pitch bending that way as well. Hell, maybe even the ability to do harmonies with the keys?

Will have to try in FL demo, Never noticed here in any hosts I have used? Makes it kind of hard to track, but will look at the bass amps also.

yes i get the stutters in FL too even when CPU is not being taxed.

FL studio does not handle synth edit well. I get the same problems with otiumfx sonitex and compadre. I think this is something that either fl or synth edit needs to fix.

I'm really new to this world and working with software tools and VSTs, so I may be naive in my requests...

I've messed with Freeamp awhile now and I think I'd like to see two things ->

1) standalone version as many have recommended
2) a VST host within itself so that you can route the signal through any plugin. Preferably totally modular so that one could insert/remove/replace virtually any piece along the chain.
3) a bump back to page 1. ;-)

I've only used vsthost/savihost to load freeamp so perhaps I'm missing out on something. If there's already a solution to #2 I'd love to be clued in. :-)
