Oh, I meant like chameleon 5000 where you have the morph square and can create points over time to automate it.Urs wrote:I guess pdxindy meant *modulating* them. Which will not happen unless we see average computers with 20GHz processors any time soon...spritex wrote:What, I was assuming that you _can_ automate the X-Y controls if the host supports it?
I would like to be able to create and save automation of the X/Y's within a Zebra preset, not in the host. There is enough room on the performance page to add such functionality. It is more integrated with the Zebra preset system this way, and then users can share presets with automated performance pad movement. I think it is a very exciting possibility!
Since I can create such automation now in Live, it should not add CPU to be able to do it right in Zebra yes?

Does it miss much? (Except for video tutorials and other add-ons still not being finished)feyshay wrote:User manual upgrade?

Well, yes. We've spoken about this in the area that we don't speak of. It could be done globally, but it simply can't be done on voice level.pdxindy wrote:Since I can create such automation now in Live, it should not add CPU to be able to do it right in Zebra yes?

Er, how can I put this delicately, without sounding ungrateful or whiney...?Urs wrote:Does it miss much?feyshay wrote:User manual upgrade?
The manual could be much better.
Currently, it doesn't shout "This is a top quality product" in the way that the plugin does. Functional maybe, but not much of a marketing aid!
But as always, so many to-do list items, not enough resource, and I'm sure it will improve. I don't mean to be negative, I hope you take it as constructive feedback, because you know I hugely respect what you do anyway...
I like a well written, well-produced manual though, and on a synth which is competing with other top-draw products, it really *should* have a great manual, imho...
(I really like the manual for Vember's Surge, BTW)

yeah, globally, same as host automation, just more efficient to have in Zebra for making evolving presets and sharing them between hosts or users... that was what I meant!Urs wrote:Well, yes. finally got to do some audio last night (after 10 days on webdesign) and Zebra came through again... it is a pleasure to use!

Try doing a search in this forum for XMF. Urs talked about it a while back. Not sure if it would cover those particular things, but it sounded like he was working on an extremely high quality filter.kodama wrote: - Really dirty MS-20 filter option

From Urs on July 24:kodama wrote:XMF sounds too clean though!
Well, I hope to have time soon to tweak that XMF filter module for Zebra2 (see other threads). I think it's gonna have an impressive snappyness and a lot of room to add any kind of character. The problem with filter character IMHO generally is that it's hard to get good sounding non-llinearities (distortion etc.) out of "normal" filters that are hard to tame in even clean modes. The XMF algorithm is pretty well behaved and clean at any resonance, any frequency and any modulation intensity, so it should be much fun to add quite some grit here and there. Now if only I can speed it up by factor 4 Embarassed

Yeah, wait and listen... it's just too many construction areas at the same time here, so I won't give any estimates.
(I slowly come to the conclusion that a product range of 27 plugins on up to 3 platforms/formats is indeed a bit too much to handle for a single developer. Well, working on that as well!)

Still, I wonder how useful non-voicelevel XY-envelopes would be, because they wouldn't be in the context of a song or played notes?pdxindy wrote:yeah, globally, same as host automation, just more efficient to have in Zebra for making evolving presets and sharing them between hosts or users... that was what I meant!

The idea behind that is triggered behaviours, comparable maybe to how Sympohm:Melohman or certain orchestral libraries work. The definition of the behaviour would be based on Zebra's scripting engine/virtual machine, so it ought to be any midi event, timer, whatever and/or any combination of these.spritex wrote:Still, I wonder how useful non-voicelevel XY-envelopes would be, because they wouldn't be in the context of a song or played notes?pdxindy wrote:yeah, globally, same as host automation, just more efficient to have in Zebra for making evolving presets and sharing them between hosts or users... that was what I meant!

it can be legato, tempo sync'ed etc...spritex wrote:Still, I wonder how useful non-voicelevel XY-envelopes would be, because they wouldn't be in the context of a song or played notes?pdxindy wrote:yeah, globally, same as host automation, just more efficient to have in Zebra for making evolving presets and sharing them between hosts or users... that was what I meant!
