Microtuning in DASH synths ? Scala? SCL ? TUN ?

I have read comments on the net that it is possible to microtune some DASH synths (in particular EVE2, SaxLab, Knagalis), similarly to microtuning synths that use the microtuning standard of SCALA and TUN microtuning files. I have read some DASH PDF manuals, and searched the forums, but I can NOT find any info. Does anyone know how to accomplish alternate scale microtuning in DASH VSTi synths? Thanks.

For example, EVE is said to support Scala files on their site
http://www.xs4all.nl/~huygensf/scala/
but no info there or in EVE PDF.

Eve is a strange case. You could microtune in Eve One but not Eve Two.

Knagalis loads alternate tunings. They are stored as simple txt files, not in Tun or SCL format. I'm sure you could probably add your own but I've not tried but it comes with quite a few. They are just loaded via the "Scale" button on the gui in the "Pitch controls" section:

I don't have Saxlab but looking at the gui it looks like it uses the same method. As for EVE, I've never known it to support tunings in either version.

Ah EVE One (not EVE version one) does seem to support Microtunings:

again going by the gui - not sure if it uses the same method or directly loads TUN or SCL files here.

That does seem a bit anomalous :?

(maybe something to do with it only loading one soundset at a time instead of layering 3 which might lead to strange results when microtuned?)

ok, thanks for your help!

Eve One and Eve version 1 are two different things?

Yes - confusing innit?

"EVE ONE" is/was a one 'oscillator' interpretation of the EVE concept - the same sort of concept and the same default soundbank, but actually different code, filters, effects etc. EVE ONE supports microtuning.

EVE ONE will soon be re-relased as MANY ONE by Manytone - I don't know if DASH are still selling it at all until the MANY ONE re-package of the instrument.

EVE v1 has been updated to EVE V2, which, although it has some great new features, does not feature microtuning support.

Hope that helps. Any other questions, just ask, as I wrote the EVE 2 manual with Luigi.
