Not to dredge up the whole skins thing again, but I think it worth noting that reFX did offer those who signed up their choice of one extra skin for free.

True, but that is only because their was a delay in shipping the DVD. Anyone who ordered Nexus on or before Tuesday got the free skin I believe.

ok, I was the mod on 'duty' last night. with all the Nexus threads going on and with none of them actually discussing Nexus, and some getting rather nasty, I made the decision to move them to HPC. I was unaware of the forum rule that you must have XX amount of posts before being able to respond. Probably should've explained myself, but I went to bed shortly after. It wasn't my intent to censor, hence the move to HPC where pretty much anything short of the bowels of hell is a go.
I still think there's a lot of whining (even prior to the thread deletion) and
I'm still getting used to this mod thing (ask vonbrucken, I accidentally deleted his sig one evening)
so from now on, use of mod powers will be accompanied by an explanation. and
I will even move back the threads to 'Instruments'
but sorry 1-2 Many, I didn't move the one to OT, hopefully this will make up for it.
keep it civil, and if you want to discuss this further, don't clog up threads, PM me.
but I'm going to nap on the couch for now.

while i might agree with your points to whatever extent i still find the phrase 'KVR mods' (plural) to be a little inciteful

Sorry Rob, but I have no idea who did it, except from implications "from a reliable source" according to another member. Until the responsible mod has the common decency to own up he is tainting all your reputations. Worse still, the longer it goes on, the worse it looks for KVR as a whole. That's down to someone else, not me. I'm not in a position to point the finger so I am left with the collective noun. Three of you have given your assurances and that's good enough for me but that still leaves several mods unaccounted for.
If you read the new thread I started on the charging for skins issue, you will see that I have had to word things very carefully because I still don't know if certain comments [and what they may be is also unknown] will precipitate the same actions. Its really, really frustrating and hampers the frank exchange of information and opinion.

Well if you are looking for Mods to account for their action.... I can assure you all that I never touched 1 post or thread relating to this issue.

As Gary mentioned, I think the threads were moved or deleted due to the slandering comments going on between various members. I don't think it had anything to do with the fact that Nexus skins are $20.00, but rather the fact that whomever moved or moderated them felt that they should at the time due to the content going off topic or the fact that a lot of name calling was going on.

Maybe we'll get a few words from Ben about this issue soon, but I know of no ultimate ploy to destroy Nexus threads. From what i saw it was the content in the threads that a Mod decided to take action on.
Gary already mentions this above also.

And the fact that KVR has a few new Mods who are still learning the ropes. But that said, some of the content I read did need Moderating guys, maybe whomever moderated it just handled it a bit abruptly. We all learn from our actions, as Gary even has in this episode.

I put no blame on Gary whatsoever, his candor is refreshing, and appreciated. As he stated, he did not move my thread to OT - kevvv did, out of spite. He posted a "warning" in that thread and when I responded, shortly after my thread was moved to OT.

Also, kevvvv made it no secret in those earlier threads (that he deleted) by the posts he made that he was an avid supporter of reFX. These threads were deleted (in a striking move of ignorance) as a result of that allegiance. As a participant in all three deleted threads let me assure you that there was nothing out of the KVR ordinary in those threads, in fact it was quite tame by comparision.

kevvvv pm'ed Mike on the new reFX forum and reported that he'd deleted all the NEXUS threads for him.
