I LOVE that idea.liqih wrote:35 USD for DK+ users,

I may have to buy this.
BTW - Modelonia is now one of my most favorite and cherished synths. I LOVE IT and use it on track after track. It fits in everywhere. I love creating brass sounding instruments that don't even exist in the real world. I cannot say enough good things about this synth!!!

And a damn fine idea it is too (yes, I am a DK+ userliqih wrote:possible figures could be 79 USD full price, 35 USD for DK+ users,

Any chance of getting in on the Beta testing? (I've just been on the Beta program for Addicitve Drums, but it would nice to get a preview of something I stand a chance of being able to afford!)

No big news at the moment.AKJ wrote:any news?
There is still a week of work before release.
We are beta testing DKS (D-Hammer), working on the skin, fine tuning the plug-in code and settings, and we'll start soon building the presets.
DKS can also do pretty standard electronic stuff (if the demo posted by liqih feels too "experimental" to some ears -- like mine):

This little demo has not been processed by anything, it's just the output of the DKS compressed in mp3.
To those who partecipated to the AK1 alpha testing, I'd like to say a big thank you and that the AK1 project is not dead: I put a lot of the AK1 in this plug-in...
For sure upgrading the DK+ to the DKS will let you have this monster for a ridicolous price.

The holiday season is always fun here, with all the sales going on...but this one is definitely going on the list right now!
I hope you're going to ship it with lots of presets for the lousy programmers like me...demo #2 was particularly tasty. I am a total pushover for strange percussion sounds...

No clue as to what AK1 is, but for many other reasons of which you are aware of mostly I think, I believe in you, Aldo.Aldo wrote:No big news at the moment.AKJ wrote:any news?

DKS is outstanding as a drum synth, and stands equaled only by Ugo's Ironhead in that class.

We recognize that presets are important in both quality and quantity... I still don't know how many but there will be a decent amount of presets.
DKS has also an easy to use preset handling system, very fast individual sounds and kits browsing, and, last but not least, smart automatic kit and sound generation functions (something like an intelligent randomizer).
For example you can assign the random kick generator to the drum pad 1, the random snare generator to the drum pad 2, a hi hat generator to pad 3 and so on... then each time you press the "Randomize Kit" button you get a fresh new kit to hear. You can keep the new kit or some parts of it, and then randomize again the sounds you didn't like.
You can do this when your song is running, so you can experiment with lots of new sounds. It is meant to be a source of inspiration and a handy tool for those who don't want to program the synth at the same time.
It has also full (dumb) randomizers to get totally unexpected results (even more inspiration).

That's a highly intelligent randomization scheme, and may obviate the need for tons of presets, though it is a good thing to provide them anyway. However, the easier it is for even the casual tweaker to be a DIYer, the better the instrument because each copy will be more uniquely the user's own.Aldo wrote:We recognize that presets are important in both quality and quantity... Wow! Just checked out the audio demos. This thing is sounding really good. Nice drum sequencing work there. Does the plugin come with a small nigerian boy that can program drum sequences for me?

So at least you and I agree on one thing, DKS has a huge upside!afreshcupofjoe wrote:Wow! Just checked out the audio demos. This thing is sounding really good. Nice drum sequencing work there. Does the plugin come with a small nigerian boy that can program drum sequences for me?
