Thanks man for your words.Bassballjg wrote: No clue as to what AK1 is, but for many other reasons of which you are aware of mostly I think, I believe in you, Aldo.
DKS is outstanding as a drum synth, and stands equaled only by Ugo's Ironhead in that class.
AK1 was something like this plug-in, but totally modular (you can load sound generators, including the one in the DKS, effects, sequencers, etc...).
I realized too late that its design was partially flawed... so I'm starting again the whole thing from here (and with Macintosh support too).

Can you recognize the DKS sound generator?

I meant to say, will they interact with each other in a special way?DKS is a synth! DK+ is a sample player
I have a few drum machines so it looks like DKS is in my realm on interset.
thanks for the intro offer.

Very nice. We don't see enough red in synthworld, with our love for silver, black and blue.liqih wrote:do you like this theme?

I wonder if you could talk a bit about the physmod stuff in here. What does PM depth do? Do you see DKS offering a very wide variety of tones or mostly a few specialized sounds? Another mp3 would be great if you have the time!

love the red skin liqih!
@Jeremy- on DKS, *I think*, PM stands for 'Phase Modulation', not 'physical modelling'. Liqih said that the only phys. mod. is the 'shell' section.

right, PM is pitch modulation,
even though the "shell" has only size and level parameters it's very effective in giving acoustic resonance to any sound

I have to agree with you John.Bassballjg wrote:That's a highly intelligent randomization scheme, and may obviate the need for tons of presets, though it is a good thing to provide them anyway. However, the easier it is for even the casual tweaker to be a DIYer, the better the instrument because each copy will be more uniquely the user's own.
Did you get the beta? If not pm me.

With the DKS you can get a wide range of sounds (including classic TR-808 kick and snares) and change them during the song.
For example in the previous demo I posted (http://www.araldfx.com/audiodemos/dks_normal_stuff.mp3) you hear tree different bass drums sound.
They aren't. The kick sound is just one and I only changed the PM attack parameter via automation.
There are tenth of other tricks that cannot be done (or easily done) with sample based synthesizers.
We will publish some (probably video) tutorials during the next months.
To your question: the answer is no, they won't interact directly, but the instruments are complementary.
