Hehehe... that was back in May/June 2004... took me two years to actually deliver the software... so better don't talk me in a Group Buy... these and me have a great history of latency...spuddle wrote:Damn, Damn, Damn.

P.S.: The Zebra GB was actually the one that started that whole wave of GBs... Cameleon was next (and probably the most successful in history), but from then on everybody and his aunty had their personal Group Buy, rendering that concept void...

Besides, Zebra is very affordable, especially considering the dinosaur crossgrade option. It was so affordable that i bought Zebra AND filterscape. MFM2 when it comes out, has already found a customer also
I've also tried pretty much every virtual instrument for mac, and i must admit Zebra is the most outstanding, usable synth i have. I was hoping for an ES3 in logic 8, now i just make cool sounds :p

I'm a poor starving (or moderately hungry most of the time) musician with a huge student loan debt to pay off, thus $200 is not an affordable sum for me. I loved using Zebra2 through the beta, the matrix options are incredible so I really want to own a copy of the synth. Great as it is, I won't be owning it anytime soon
On a side note: fantastic work Urs, keep it up.

Hmm.. how many units did Cameleon sell in that Group Buy? I think Garritan's second to latest group buy topped anything I had seen with at least 1,000 units.
Shreddage 3 Stratus: Next generation Kontakt Player guitar, now available!

The only problem with Zebra is that I have made soooooo many patches for it, I frequently have to delete patches so that I can keep track of them!!!!!! A mark of a proper synth I think, puts all other VSTis to shame!!!!! !!!!!!
Hackintosh, Ableton, Various plugins inc Repro, Zebra, Tal bassline 101, Xpand, Serum. Mackie onyx audio interface, Presonus Eris e5, Samson Sr850/Yamaha RH5ma headphones, Novation nocturn, Korg nano control 2, Maudio keystation 49, AKAI APC25.

Cool. We should try to share patches. Any good location where to upload them, or just place them on individual web pages (harder to find...)? --Kent

I sorta remember Urs talking about a place for users to upload presets being in the plans...
Would be nice... I'd be happy to share more presets if there were a site for uploading them to. I have lots!

Also, not just presets, but OSC and MSEG's too
Would be especially nice for new users to have some basic waveforms to choose from.
And I still wish we could save arps...

I'm not surprised at the glowing review at all though...
i'm constantly shocked by the beautiful sounds z2 are capable of though

Sound on Sound was going to do a review and a couple reporters received a copy of Zebra but they have not been seen since! There have been rumours of neighbors complaining in the night, but they are unsubstantiated.beatz wrote:I'd love to see a Sound on Sound review. They seem to have competent reporters
