Ok folks, I'm looking for a rompler vst that is specifically built for trance sounds. I want it to have a few gigs worth of sample material because that just shits on the 160 megs of a motif es. What rompler do you guys recommend?

Wusikstation is worth a look as well and costs less than half the price.

I would also say Wusikstation but try to talk WilliamK into selling ya the first 3 magazines (WSM) as well as these have ElektroWusik which adds some fine sounds to the already nice Wusik package including the trance-tastic VipZone sounds.

Part of the ongoing debate, surrounding Nexus, seems to be about it's limited editing capabilities. If DaExpert wants a Rompler that he can tweak to his hearts content, then it may not be the best choice for him. If he just wants 4gbs of ready to go trance/dance type sounds, and doesn't want to be bothered with creating his own presets, it may be the ideal choice.Amberience wrote:Yeah, Nexus. It is brilliant.

I gotta say, for trance/dance, Nexus is going to be your best bet.
And that being said I'm writing a bank of EDM presets for Zebra 2 that is made to be as usable as possible.

wusik now has dual arps, dual trance gates, 64-bit world class reverb, all kinds of insert fx, super unison to make those massively phat sounds, tons of filtering, envelope, synthesis and modulation editing, dual wave sequencers and 6 layers to insert your own wave files or the tons and tons of included samples - making it the best value (currently in a group buy for next to nothing $$$) and one of the best synths in existence.
I use it for almost everything.

Hmmm... so daExpert, who judging by his previous posts keeps up on what synths are available and has a good understanding of what their capabilities are... has recommended that "It would be better to not do trance"... and claims to "have more experience than everyone here"... suddenly is looking for advice from others, regarding a "trance" rompler with the exact specs that Nexus has to offer, only a week or so after it's release.
Things are just getting so strange around here lately.

daExpert wrote:I recommend Odo's magnificent drum plugin DR-Fusion for constructing many varieties of snares. Also, as Chase said, Hg-Fortune's plugins are great for pads.
daExpert wrote:Have you ever taken a look at Luxonix Ravity? It has a very 'bread-n-butter' type sound and has enough versatility to be your go-to rompler. Ravity gives you great functionality and it is inexpensive at the same time.
daExpert wrote:Absynth is a ridiculous amount of money. Hg-Fortune's shit is free. Enough said. PERIOD.
daExpert wrote:Ildon, if Danny Darko said that HyperCanvas might be able to do what he needs, then surely Ravity would be everything he could want, and more. Listen to the pure common sense that I am preaching.
daExpert wrote:The only music I could envision someone making with Short Circuit is bleepy trance music. Where is the alternating zones? Tell me Mr. Z3R0T0N1N. Just tell me.
daExpert wrote:It would be better to not do trance. I recommend doing something "cool" like hip-hop, rock, maybe even smooth jazz. But, if you are going to be stupid and do trance, I personally recommend Z3ta, because the programming capabilities are phenominal.
daExpert wrote:Albino greatly sucks, it sounds like a slimy cheeseball. Z3ta is clearer, more vibrant, and the programming capabilities are endless. I would choose Z3ta, definately.
daExpert wrote:Mr Blajaq - Making quality drums is NOT easy. You would be far better off with E-lab Obsession, which comes with 5000 drum samples. I know what I'm talking about, I have more experience than everyone here on KVR. So, anyways, go to bigfishaudio.com, type in obsession in the search box, and "cop that shiiitz" or however the f**k you gangsters say it.
daExpert wrote:No tee boy, Obsession contains a bountiful collection of drum samples spanning the ENTIRE hip-hop genre. Foundation is the one with the vinyl samples. Read up before you sputter your useless prose.
