I just got V2 of the garritan Strad. V1 runs on Kontakt 2, V2 may also, but comes with its own player which should put a ;ot lsee load on the CPU. Has muse talked to Gary and/or NI about Receptorizing it?

Given this new Garritan title has encrypted samples (similar to EastWest, Best Service, etc.) and uses the new Native Instruments "Kontakt Player 2" engine, I assume Muse would have to create an installer and handle NI authorization.
The big hurdle here is the "NI Service Center" application (which is used for authorization), and Muse is currently working on that to support installation of NI Komplete 4.

So if I try the old NI registration instructions...they won't work for this new Kontakt 2 player? I would absolutely love to get my Strad working but I don't want to waste my install authorization only to find out that it won't work on Receptor. This is just A bump..please help great Muse minds!!

Starting with the NI release of their product KORE, all new NI instruments (or instruments that are powered by an NI engine like any of the new Kontakt Player 2 based products which includes Garritan Stradivari 2) MUST use the NI Service Center application to authorize the product.Littidy wrote:So if I try the old NI registration instructions...they won't work for this new Kontakt 2 player?

This also includes later versions of NI Komplete 3 and the new NI Komplete 4. I had sent an email to Ted Rackley a week ago asking about Receptor support of Komplete 4 and support of Kontakt Player 2 products (in general).
His response was:
1. Komplete 4 is their highest current priority, but they have encountered (and are working through) issues related to having to use the NI Service Center application for authorization.
2. They are also investigating Kontakt Player 2 products
Even outside of the Receptor environment there are many people who are having difficulties registering NI products using the NI Service Center application on their "normal computers" (just browse the NI forums) let alone adding the Receptor to the equation.
Regarding your situation, I definitely would not attempt to authorize the Strad 2 yet.

FWIW, I have owned many NI products over the years and have never had authorization issues that were not my own RTFM errors. (Which in NO way implies that others should not have had issues, just that some folks don't mind their auth setup - I way prefer it to iLok...)
