Either they're all stoned beyond reason or they're all stoned beyond reason. Sounds like incoherent riffing to me. Is it just me or am I missing something very deep and over my head?

there is lots of stuff i really hate but i assume it's just not for me...in chicago there was a pretty good no wave/improv/f**ked up jazz scene in the 90's, and i can asssure you: those people could really play the f**k out of their instruments...no one was stoned either, they were very serious actually...and i really dig great players doing great improv...so i have to say it's just you...

I understand Chuck. It's just a bit too advanced for me to comprehend and enjoy. Much respect to those that can.

My hat's off to those who can tolerate that sort of thing... it triggers my ADHD like a fire alarm in Hell... :help:

60s bossa nova rules. It's from a CD called Cinecocktail. The whole compilation is good.

For the many who enjoyed the "Last Exit" clip here's another delightful link. This is Anthony Braxton providing a bit of context by doing his version of John Coltrane's "Impressions" with Chick Corea on piano and friends.

Enjoy!
