Hello all. Have any of you been able to install the full version of pianoteq on the muse receptor? I installed the trial version with no problems. I just purchased the full version of pianoteq and I can't get it to install (probably due to the activation process). I have already posted this on the receptor forum here, but I have not gotten a response yet. Thanks.

This sounds nothing like a real piano.

Nothing like a piano (what does it sound like then?) or nothing like a real piano? This sounds nothing like a real piano.
My point was to compare to Pianoteq & other synthesized piano's (none existing sounding like a real piano).

I think it does help to show how far Pianoteq has come compared to what was believed to be (at the time) one of the better synthesised Piano patches prior to it's release. Similarly try comparing it with the Piano's in String Studio or for Tassman (or Creamware's 6 String which imho had probably the best synthetic piano sound up till now)tony tony chopper wrote:Nothing like a piano (what does it sound like then?) or nothing like a real piano? This sounds nothing like a real piano.

I think Pianoteq sounds convincing enough, but with 2 major problems (that were mentionned), being the horrible constant hammering noise (it's better without it, but it can't be disabled apparently, only attenuated), and lower notes being all smoothed up.
Problem is that it's dedicated to piano, so if it's not perfect at doing it, soundbanks are still a better option. While a piano patch for a synth is only for fun, it's not made to be used.

If you mean the horrible sustain pedal noise it can be disabled as well as turned up or down, though I agree they really need to improve how that is modelled in the first place. Also the key release noises and damper noises can be disabled completely as well as turned up or down.tony tony chopper wrote:I think Pianoteq sounds convincing enough, but with 2 major problems (that were mentionned), being the horrible constant hammering noise (it's better without it, but it can't be disabled apparently, only attenuated)

no, the hammer noise. It blows, and can only be attenuated.

Finally got chance to try the (Pianoteq) demo - I should add first that I'm using an Evolution non-weighted keyboard at the moment (will bring the big beast in for a test soon), but I was pleasantly surprised by this - thought it felt pretty good to play
It was a tad bright for my tastes, but you can eq it, I guess - I'm keeping an eye on this one!
