East West PRO XP STRINGS issue....

Hey guys,

So I just tried loading several different samples from my East West PRO XP Strings library....and Receptor is giving me the following messages/errors:

"The content you are trying to load is not registered" (Please be sure to start the apllication that the content came with at least once)."

Then I get the follow up error message after that one which says:

"The patch could not be loaded. Unknown error!"

So I took a little visit over to Plugorama and on the User Installer section for the Pro XP Strings I noticed this message:
NOTE: Receptorized patches are NOT included in this installer. Receptor patches will be provided as a separate installer in the future, when available.
So I'm thinking this is somehow related. Why can't I load the Pro XP Strings samples/patches into my receptor? I think I have a feeling what is meant by "Receptorized patches" but I'm not sure. I am obviously not up to speed on this issue...so if you guys can tell me what is going on I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance

Just like on the PC, to load any protected content into Kontakt2 you MUST authorize it. This means you must install and authorize East West PRO XP Strings on the Receptor. You may also have to launch the East West PRO XP Strings player once (thought I have never found this to be the case).

I know Hybernation...I did authorize it...that was the first thing I did. It's fully authorized and still giving me that message....I'm out of town at the moment...but I will try and run the player by itself again from the Receptor on my return. I thought maybe this was somehow related to the note up on the Plugorama website with regards to "receptorized patches" as I mentioned above.

Thanks for your time though...

bummer! I seem to remember this happening to some other folks and I think they said re-installing Kontakt2 was the solution.

A few questions:
1. Can you play back the EWQLSO samples on Receptor by using the EWQLSO Kompakt player (i.e. they load and play in Receptor fine using the player but fail when loading into Kontakt 2)?
2. Have you upgraded Kontakt 2 to a newer version since you originally installed the EWQLSO Kompakt player?

If you have a PC, I would suggest trying to create a similar environment (i.e. same version numbers of EWQLSO and Kontakt 2 on your PC) and see if you get the same problem. If you do, the problem is not the Receptor.

Hey Martin,

Sorry for the loooong delay...but just got back into town. I'll just start by saying I think the issue is now resolved. I began the process with clearing out the cache from my RECEPTOR and starting from scratch. I then loaded up East West XP Strings on its own (meaning in KOMPAKT not KONTAKT 2) both on my host computer and on the RECEPTOR... and I was able to load the libraries without a problem. So I then restarted & cleared everything again from RECEPTOR (just to be extremely anal) and this time proceeded to load up KONTAKT 2 into the RECEPTOR. I then chose the exact XP String files I was getting the error message with prior to this process and I was able to load everything. :) I do find that I get missing files quite a bit....but after it searches...it finds them. This is both on and off RECEPTOR.

To answer your questions anyway though....

1) Yes I could get sound both from my Main Host computer and from Receptor by loading up the KOMPAKT player.

2) Yes...I had/have all the latest updates for KONTAKT 2 (I believe 2.2. is the latest).

Thanks for your time Martin...looks like this issue is resolved!

Scratch that.....I'm getting the same problem. I just tried loading up Violas Pizz. and got the same message:
"The content you are trying to load is not registered" (Please be sure to start the apllication that the content came with at least once)."
So I'm back to square one. I tried loading the KOMPAKT player for Strings XP on its own more than once...which did successfully access the files and playback to me on the RECEPTOR. However...whenever I try to load the XP File in KONTAKT 2 I get that error message.

Lastly quick somewhat related question....why do I see 3 KONTAKT listings in the RECEPTOR's file loading window? i.e.:

KONTAKT
KONTAKT*8
KONTAKT*16

I have an idea why...but I'm not 100 percent.

Thanks in advance for any help
