I think Way out Ware should do an Oberheim. That would make it a pretty good choice, between sonicprojsect, GForce and WOW

I'm telling you, battle of the Obese. Who is fatter? Whose got the fattest Oberheim emulation? That's 2007! It's all about the good old SEMs vs. the Xpander vs. The OB8 vs. the OBX vs. the Matrix 6 vs. the OBXa vs. the OberMoog (a friend of mine had one of those... didn't quite do what we thought it would).

The first person to accurately model the Oberheim SEM gets my money. I will compare it A/B and if you can get the sound of that filter (one of the best sounding filters ever) then hats off to ya! You have mad props from Squids (and Lyle Mays). MAD props I tell you! (ok, alcohol wearing off but still dizzy).

But, in reality, I bet it is all "Oberheimish" and maybe reminiscient of the OB8. That was a good synth. But, when OB was discrete it was beautiful. It's just like the Prophet 5 when it was SSM chips instead of Curtis. Oh well. There's always the real thing (and nice samples of the real thing too!
