Urs,

Found a strange bug here.

1. Load an instance of Triple Cheese, no audio output, no changes to the initial state of the plugin when it loads.

2. Route it through an instance of Sonalksis TBK2, same thing, initial state, no adjustments.

3. Turn the big knob on TBK2 ALL THE WAY down to the left.

4. Wait 1 sec.

5. crazy wobbly 340hz - 350Hz squarewave madness :)

This happens in FL Studio and Zynewave Podium.

Wow. Well, the knob has to be RIGHT the way down to make this work... even the slightest nudge stops it... I can repro in AudioMulch. If you insert a gain between TC and TBK2, you get the sound, UNLESS the gain is set to mute... but any level at all and it comes right up. TBK2 will provide a ludicrous amount of gain when used like this... but it means that there's some noise coming out of TC. So, I wondered how loud that noise must be... I stuck a spectrum analyser between TC and TBK2, and added 24db of gain before the analyser... and i don't think it's more than -120db... In fact, I couldn't see anything at all on the analyser, which does down to -96dBFS... so... whatever is coming out of TC is very very very quiet indeed.
TBK2 is expected to provide deep spiritual nastiness if used that aggressively, so it's a good thing, in my book :D
Incidentally, Crush seems to be the only mode that will make it ring like this...

Incidently, it isn't just the U-he stuff which does this (although all of the U-he synths do - FilterscapeVA is a bit different at about 21HZ according to InspectorXL ) Quite a few others do similar...check out Organ3 :)

I went thru all my synths as you never know where a cool sound might come from ;)

I just look at this with Visualizer where the levelmeter goes down to -120dB but the noise was not visible - only the correlationmeter indicated something is going on. This must be the magic noise which makes Urs' plugins sound really good - at least to my ears.

Hmmm... might be the anti-denormalization stuff...

Dave!!! You with Sonalksis now :-o

Given that it's at +very close to+ 44100/128 Hz, I did wonder ;)

Yeah! I'm at Sonalksis now! Didn't I tell you? [I wasn't sure if you even remembered who i was...!]

Dave.
