Is there a way to quickly batch sample single-notes of VST synths? I am running out of CPU and would like to convert some VST synths to WAV.

Will DirectWave or HighLife allow me to automatically bath sample the entire patch bank of a synth with the same folder structure?

Some other options for recording:
There's a little utility in this thread that records incoming sound to separate files on note on events.
Devine Machine's One Shot Recorder
ArcDev's Synthcatcher
That's all I can think of. There's something called sample robot or the like that is a standalone automated thing, but I have little recollection of what and where it is, except that it was pricey. Or you could always just record the audio and muck about with it later.

Thanks for those suggestions. However, to make my life easier, could anyone tell me if any of these apps will automatically batch sample an entire bank of presets into single-note wavs?

DirectWave and HighLife do something along those lines. Can't remember exactly if they'll do a whole bank at once or one preset at a time.
Highlife's free if you want to give it a go.

I have tried highlife and directwave and it seems neither of them can do it
I would think that something like this should exist

I've just tested in Highlife, I'm reasonably sure it does what you want (and so Directwave probably does it, too, since it is essentially Highlife's big brother).
You go to the editor view, load a VSTi, set the recording parameters (#of layers, duration, number of presets, etc) and it'll run through a specified note range at specified intervals and record. That output gets saved as a .fxp file, which is what Highlife uses as a preset file. You can then export each preset one at a time as a batch of .wav files (one for each note recorded).
Admittedly it requires some effort to save, but such is life. Each .wav will be named according to the VSTi and preset.

I have followed your advice but unfortunatelly I was unable to get any results.
I went to Edit View, loaded VSTi, set all the parameters, then clicked "File-Save". This created an empty FXP file. I have also clicked "File-Export Wavs" but nothing was exported.

Sorry to bump this but I really need to find a way to do this.
Just to repeat, I am looking for a software that will automatically batch-sample an entire bank of presets from a VSTi into single-note WAVS?

I don't know of something that will do an entire bank. Maybe sampleRobot if you hook it up with some sort of virtual ins and outs

VSTi CONVERTER:
- converting virtual synth to different formats.
- support for plugins without their own gui.
- choosing a patch or bank also possible.
I'm a Jugga Nut!
