Have a look at the label on the vinyl. Does it say "Public Domain" or something like "Copyright (c) 19??. All rights reserved. Unauthorised copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting prohibited" ?

I'd say you're extremely misinformed, you'll have to wait about 60 years:

Right there, in the public domain... Now that's not very helpful, I know ;-) But there are many sites that host samples that can be used in whatever way you like. Just read the smallprints...

Each of those vinyls holds composer, performer and publishing copyrights , lots of boring legal work there!

So .... you can either f#@k the samples up to the point where no one can trace,
or go straight to some public domain sources :

though I think there's better audio in the VIDEO section

and particularly in the Prelinger Archives :

I will definately be going through the Prelinger Archives. There definately alot of sample potential there, and best of all. It's free!!!!

i recommend using some sort of stream grabber like totalrecorder for the prelingers cause downloading all the videos can get annoying... how do you guys do it?
