Have a look at the label on the vinyl. Does it say "Public Domain" or something like "Copyright (c) 19??. All rights reserved. Unauthorised copying, hiring, renting, public performance and broadcasting prohibited" ?LOOPxDIGGA wrote:alright, i know that a lot of old vinyl records are listed under public domain, and u can use them freely as you wish, where do i find a list of this stuff??? i have a huge collection of vinyl...and i want to seperate whats free to use and whats not..
I'd say you're extremely misinformed, you'll have to wait about 60 years:

Right there, in the public domain... Now that's not very helpful, I knowLOOPxDIGGA wrote:and also, public domain samples...kara-moon has a catherdral bell ample set and he said he got it all from public domaina nd cleaned it up...where do i find these public domain samples???

Each of those vinyls holds composer, performer and publishing copyrights , lots of boring legal work there!
So .... you can either f#@k the samples up to the point where no one can trace,
or go straight to some public domain sources :

though I think there's better audio in the VIDEO section
http://www.archive.org/details/movies
and particularly in the Prelinger Archives :

I will definately be going through the Prelinger Archives. There definately alot of sample potential there, and best of all. It's free!!!!

i recommend using some sort of stream grabber like totalrecorder for the prelingers cause downloading all the videos can get annoying... how do you guys do it?
