It was always my dream to start a 325+ pages thread on a product I still haven't bought yet because my wife won't approve the purchase before I buy a new air conditioner to replace the A3ntar's "fan blowing on a popsicle" climat conditioner, a.k.a AirSticle 2000 Deluxe.
Now I can remove that entry from my "9.5 things to do before I loose my virginity" list
.

Based on Mosrite™ Fuzzrite®
A highly sought-after, rare fuzz box, it was one of the first commercially available floor effect units, making its first appearance in 1966. It doesn't get any more vintage than this when it comes to stomp pedals.
Read the description and Squids' hint again.
"one of the first commercially available floor effect units"
This was definitely the correct answer.
It would have been my guess, except I didn't think it would have been fair to win two copies, so I abstained.
DOH! Sometimes I wish Iw asn't so freakin' honest
What I did is I googled the answer to the first puzzle's answer "Maestro Fuzz-Tone" string and I got a wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuzzbox as the most revelant search result.
Than after locating that string on the web page, imeediatly next to it was the string "the highly-sought Mosrite FuzzRITE". So I go and do a google search on images, and man, I was really exited when I saw that it looked metallic! and after some more googling I found that it was quite an old fuzz pedal as well
So I hurried up and posted that answer....But than realized that it looks like a standard pedal and although it might be considered "cool" by some persons (hopefully Squids), it might not be the correct answer...
I am really crossing my fingers at this point....
Squids, make the suspens stop....I didn't eat supper today because my stomach was stuffed due to all that fingernail biting happening this afternoon

Well, based on what Squids said, I could see that it could be the Octavia. He never specified it as a fuzz box, only a stomp box, and with its development in 1967, it was "one of the first stomp boxes ever made that was silver", (though it may have originally been white) and was by no means the first, or even the first notable one (Fuzzrite predates it by a year). However, much of this hinges on the subjective judgement which follows next: "and really cool looking". Well, if that is the crux of the hint, then there is a real problem. The original Octavia was a nondescript silver box, and the GUI of ATJH reflects this, even. According to Roger Mayer himself:
"it was not until the early 80's that the demand and pressure for others encouraged me to reissue the last version of the Octavia that Jimi used. This was the debut of the futuristic looking Rocket casting which did not exist before then."
http://www.roger-mayer.co.uk/history.htm
So with this taken into consideration, the statement "one of the first stomp boxes ever made that was silver and really cool looking" does not apply to the Octavia any more than to the Fuzzrite by any subjective measure. It was not one of the first stomp boxes to be really cool looking at all. It wasn't cool looking until the 1980s reissue, and there were already plenty of cool looking pedals well before then, some were even silver.
Compare an original Octavia, like the ones used by Hendrix to the Fuzzrite. I say the Fuzzrite is cooler looking, and more silvery too.

All my presets are up at the AmpliTubeUsers preset site:A3ntar wrote:Andras, I really like that boost! It adds that special "something" to the tone.AndrewSimon wrote:Well the AC booster is part of the sound.
Here is a sample turning it on and off, just for you A3ntar:

It's a very clean boost, but oh so nice.
Let me know if you still want the preset, I use a lot of 3rd party effects so the preset will be pretty dry.
A bit expensive though.
I ( and I am pretty sure a lot of others) would still be highly interrested in that preset.
Thanks.

Look for the "XoticAC" preset in the "AS Presets for Strat" section.

Although by re-reading Squids post, he does mention that it is a "fuzz box".

epi is a semi-hollow 335 style guitar
Strat is ... well a Strat
Ibanez is an Ibanez RG style guitar
Ta is an LP style guitar
Note, I usually use 3rd party post Reverb, Delay and Compressors so add any of these to taste.
You will also see many EQ's in the stomp section, just turn them on for more GAIN!

My Guess for the contest: Mosrite Fuzzrite!!!!.
So, what you two guys won IS the AmpliTube 2 Jimi Hendrix Edition when it comes out in the next two months (yeah baby, that's right... not a year but this Quarter!). Now you can have the models you guess plus a lot more. Enjoy! Thanks for playing the Squids AT game. Wow I am too drunk to type right now. I will have to make mini posts. We had a party. It was stellar but really the typing latency is not happening. I either need to change my buffer setting or I need to drink some water.
By the way, Beergeek, I saw your brother today (his brother is freakin' Roger Powell by the way, legendary keyboardist from Todd Rundgren and Utopia so don't let him pretend! haha).
Wow, I wonder if I will have a massive hangover tomorrow. I hope not. Cheers!

Better than that eh? It's a good thing there even is a crossgrade let's not forget. When you buy a Marshall amp do they let you crossgrade to other Marshall amps? Okay, that's hardware, in software do you always get to crossgrade to other products with a discount from every company? It's rare! Something to be appreciated I think. Oh in terms of value I have to say that being a vintage stomp box fanatic as I am the price of what? $199? is worth it for an accurate model of the UNIVIBE alone. I for one always wanted one but couldn't justify spending over a grand for it. This is a REALLY cool liquid effect that is unique and I am surprised no one has modeled it before. Jimi or no Jimi the Univibe alone is worth the price let alone everything else. Let's not get spoiled by this stuff! It isn't just pretty pictures. There's a lot of research, finding the vintage gear to A/B and a lot of modeling development done in order to bring you guys a VINTAGE COLLECTION that is as juicy as this one! It could justifiably cost quite a bit more considering what people pay to get the authentic sounds of these pedals and amps withOUT software simulation of it. So, I just want to make sure that you guys don't miss out on the appreciation of what it's value really is. It is an incredible deal that should save you money on collecting some otherwise VERY expensive equipment to get that character of sound!!!! Almost every stomp individually in this product costs as much or more than the product itself! Forget about the amps... those Brown Tolex Fenders and classic Marshalls go for an insane amount of money. I for one am so glad that the developers were able to model it so accurately... because I would like to have the sound of pedals I can't always find or justify the expense of myself!AndrewSimon wrote:Crossgrade and upgrade
Upgrade/ Crossgrade From To Price
Upgrade AmpliTube 2 AmpliTube 2 Jimi Hendrix Edition $199/€169
They will have to do better then that.

By the way, the Mosrite Fuzzrite I guess had different versions that looked different. I saw the actual fuzz box that was modeled and it is similar to what is pictured in the GUI. To me it looks BEAUTIFULLY messed up and vintage! I love it. Simple but grungy, gritty and just gorgeous. Sounds great too! Expensive pedal though. I've had a lot of pedals in my day but never this one. It's super rare. I hope they give it to me as a gift for all my help! Haha. Well, if not then I have the model of it which is quite accurate! Very nice.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Squids wrote:Haha... okay you won! You SHOULD too. You deserve it.A3ntar wrote:.
My Guess for the contest: Mosrite Fuzzrite!!!!.
I can't beleive that I won something over 5$ for the first time in my life!!!
You know, I always enter contests and never win a thing...Well, not entirly true. Back in the days I used to receive envelops that would say "Open quick, you won a 1,000,000$", and inside was a letter that would say "Mr. A3ntar, yes you, you are one of the finalists for 1,000,000$...To enhace your chances send us 9.99$ to the address provided below". Naive I was, I actually sent one time this 9.99$ to increase my chances to win the million dollars. My wife and me we actually started making plans on purchasing a nice large house and having kids, a lot of kids because now with us being rich, we could afford it.
So I waited for the response of the sweepstake...and I waited....and I waited....and I waited. Finally one day, 3 months later, out of the blue, I receive this small box and an enveloppe with a "results of the contest" stamped on it. I open it quickly. Me and my wife, we were jumping of joy...we felt like winners!
So I start reading..."Congratulations A3ntar for being our Big winner!"...My heart is doing 250bpm..."You sir, open the box to see immediatly what you have won". Excited, I tear the box apart...The first thing I see is a paper...it looks like a check!!!! I remove the check from the box. I quickly read the value...1,000,000$ !!!! I almost faint!!!! But wait....What the heck is that red writing over it?! .....................
"Speciman only. This is what you would have won if you were our Master Winner. Look inside of the box for your surprise gift".
So I fetch inside the box, just to be greated by my "surprise gift".......................................
A freaking box of no brand brown garbage bags!!!!
Needless to say that after this, I never bothered even opening these "You won a 1,000,000$" envelopes
Grazie mille IKMM for your GREAT products!!
Thanks Sonic Reality/eSoundz.com and Squids for your GREAT prices and outstanding service!!
Thanks to KVR and all of you KVRians for making the thread what it is and for giving me a chance to finally win the software I have been wanting for 2 years!
