You are right.
The first initial implementation of the DKS (three years ago) had oversampling in it.
Given that the oscillators themselves do not suffer of aliasing problems they won't benefit from higher sampling frequencies, unless you modulate them with a lot of FM.
The distortion unit also benefits of oversampling (as any other "analog sounding" overdrive).
Too many words to say yes, I will add an option to oversample (2X or 4X) the sound generators and the overdrive unit, but later, perhaps after (or with) the introduction of the step sequencer.

The additional patches that are being talked about - will they be free updates or sold as add-ons?
I'm kind of underwhelmed by the patches that come with the demo.
I'm not adverse to tweaking or when necessary creating my own patches, I just feel that as a starting base there needs to be more.

HI
Is there any possibility that you may introduce a 'pitched mode' so that a patch could be played through the octaves?

Yes, in the next update all the 8 pads will be playable like a normal synthesizer (pitched mode) on MIDI chanels from 2 to 9.original flipper wrote:HI

HI
I have already been making patches that I think will be nice in 'pitched' mode.

Pitched mode is definitely cool.
I like where you're going with DKS Pro. You'll have my purchase next payday.

Since there was no sign of life from any Dash person on the other thread, I'll repeat my DKS-Pro enhancement idea here:
I recall how the old Sequential Circuits 'Tom' drum machine worked:
If you had the input quantization on, say, 32, then if you pressed down one of the drumpads (and held it down) you'd get a 32 'roll' for however long you kept the pad down.
So, select a quantize amount of '4', and hold down the bass drum key for one cycle of the pattern to get a standard simple BD hit pattern.
If the input quantization controls were similar to most delay units' sync amount (eg: 1, 1T, 1D, 2, 2T, 2D etc) then you'd immediately have all the basic 'starter' patterns needed, plus a 'roll' for every occasion. It would also mean no need to have any special input roll options.

Why is it that you Dash guys seem to listen and respond to every gripe & complaint I have, then as soon as I have a useful suggestion (above) there's total silence ? Very amusing.
