which is a good thing.
However, as far as I understand it, you cannot install a newer version of a plug that is officially supported, like EVE or Vanguard. Of course, you could always uninstall the officially supported plug if you know how to uninstall rpm packages and install the newer version as unsupported, but then it negates the point of selling plugins at plugorama in the first place. Might as well just let users do their own thing and install all plugs as unsupported.
So if Muse want to keep getting some sort of revenue from selling officially supported plugins, they must update those supported plugins ! Frankly, I'm at the stage where I'm seriously wondering whether the second Receptor I have in mind is not going to turn into a rack PC.
New install procedure, ok but what about supported stuff ?

yikes, your post is a bit disconcerting!
I'm still a relatively new Receptor user, but i gotta tell ya, it's been a bit frustrating trying to get this thing working as I'd like it to. For example, I need to work with samples on stage, and currently do it out of my Motif, but naturally would like Receptor to handle it. As a Komplete 2 owner, Kontakt wasn't really an option as it's not v 2 (offically supported, but with problems - seen in other threads), I don't own a PC so can't try the unsupported method, I cringe at having to involve NI cust. support, (although I did and still don't have a solid answer for cross-grading either Kontakt or Kompakt) so I went out and bought SampleTank 2 just to get moving forward. Plugorama only has an installer for 2.09, but my bought version is more recent. I'm fine with that, except that the message on plugorama about supporting 2.1.1 'to follow soon' is from before christmas .. in 2005!
So no big deal, as 2.09 works on receptor, but I'm installing it on my Mac to create user presets with the intention of moving them over when they're done, will they work on 2.09? So far, no. So far I haven't even been successful loading my custom samples into ST2 at all. Is it a ST version issue, a ST software issue or a Receptor issue? Do I really want to spend all that time to track it down? If i want ST on receptor to play my samples, I have no choice. Or learn how to create sf2/sfz files and use the rcg freebie.
I'm starting to get the same feelings as I did when I was using a Digi002 - all the silly issues between OSX's core audio driver, the digi driver, RTAS versions of plugs I paid for but were not available (not digi or apples fault obviously) .. seems like every time I turned the rig on I had to spend half an hour or more trying to get it to work properly, upgrading something, reverting to old versions .. whatever. I dumped PTLE/002 for DP5/828 and have been happy ever since.
So far I'm VERY happy with my Receptor. Being able to use Atmosphere, B4, SampleTank (maiden voyage on stage tonight), discovering great VSTs to use at great prices like impOSCar, OPX, and a few of the freebies has been great. Lack of Uniwire AU, tricky VST installations are an accepted, albeit frustrating, part of the learning curve for me, but the inconsistant support of premium plugs is mystifying. NOT being able to use Stylus RMX, get Ivory working correctly has required work-arounds, as I just don't have the time any more to devote to working some of these issues out, and am expecting Muse to, sometime soon, focus on pluggin support and installation issues, which I think would position the company very nicely as the culture of computer-based music production on stage and studio continues to expand.
just my 2¢
