I'm having lots of problems with DFD (Direct From Disk) while running the EWQLSO Orchestra, so I thought I'd check to see what version of the DFD extension is on the Receptors. One of them actually has *two* versions in its system folder:
NI_DFD_1_2_9.dll
NI_DFD_1_3_0.dll
And the other one only has v1.29.
Since 1.30 is newer, I was wondering if the two versions might be conflicting on the machine that has both, so I made a backup copy of 1.29 and attempted to delete the original from the Receptor's system folder, but I'm told I don't have "sufficient priveleges." (By the way, I'm on a Mac, running OS 10.4.8, and obviously I've mounted the Receptor's hard drives on my desktop for viewing.)
Does anyone know how to gain the priveleges required to delete the unwanted file?
Thanks.
How to gain priveleges to remove .dll file from Receptor?

OK, scratch that request. I just learned that different plug-ins are "tied" to specific versions of the DFD extension and are called upon as needed. The Receptor that has both files is one on which I had installed a later NI product, and that one requires v1.3. But the older plug-ins still require v1.29. Strange, but I guess that's how it works, so they both need to stay installed.
Thanks.
Thanks.
