Using Receptor - Uniwire and an External Synth together...

Hey there. I browsed around for an answer to this on the forum. I've already contacted Muse about it and haven't received a good answer yet...Just to watch the uniwire intro video and enable routing of cc messages.

I have been using the Receptor for a while and have had no problems controlling it from my host through Uniwire.

What I am trying to do now is attach one of the external synths I have to the Receptor and control the external synth through uniwire. Is this possible? :)

The path in see in my mind would essentially be:

DAW ---> Uniwire ---> Receptor ---> midi out/midi thru ---> external synth midi in. But it doesn't quite get there. The Receptor or Uniwire doesn't seem to pass on the midi data being sent to it out of the midi thru or out.

Help me out here, if you would - I'd like to know what i'm doing wrong. :P

Why go through Uniwire, why not just go DAW ---> external synth midi in? Maybe you don't have a MIDI interface on your computer?

Bingo. I mean, I probably *could* connect one...but i'd prefer to use Uniwire and have everything accessible from the same VST plugin interface.

Allright, I was just curious.

Sorry I couldn't help with your problem thou. It was my understanding that a MIDI thru port just replicates everything that comes through the MIDI in and send it further. But then again, Uniwire is a piece of software and I guess the "thru" feature would have to be built in.
