Vocoder on Receptor for live work?

Is anyone using the Syncoder 32 for actual live work on Receptor?
I posted something over a year ago; I'm looking for vocal-voder effects with a mic, I'm assuming plugged into my Receptor.

How about if anyone is using any soft-synth Vocoder on Receptor?

Yes, I am in the same boat. I have hopes for this one, announced by SonicState today:

Well it looks good, thanks D.

I'd still like to hear from someone that has tried a vocoder, with a mic plugged into their Receptor.

I am pretty sure that the syncoder32 only works as a vocal synth on the Receptor. I have not been able to find any way to accept a mic input.

Muse?

Think they're busy with NAMM at the moment.

Okay ~ now that NAMM is over, I'll try again.
I'm looking for vocal-vocoder effects with a mic, I'm assuming plugged into the front panel 1/4" Input on my Receptor.

EVM Synths' Syncodor 32 is 'Known to work', according to the KVR site:

So MUSE, or anyone else ~ does it function as what I'm looking for?

This is by no means an endorsement, but I spotted Vocov while trolling around today: http://www.g200kg.com/archives/software_vocov_e.html

Have you tried this?

Thanks Aknot
No I haven't ~ however, same question arises: can I plug a mic into the front of my Receptor, and pass that signal through the plug-in, for live Vocodor effects?
I need to get a mic cable to 1/4" adapter...

I suppose the question is rather, can you use a MIDI controller to control a VST Effect, as opposed to a VST Source. I'll have to look into the manual, it seems like there is some limitation there.

Getting vocals into the Muse could be done via the line in, or SPDIF. Then an effect can be set up on that channel, say a vocoder.

Now, does anyone know if you can patch MIDI note messages to the Effect unit?

Post

I don't see HOW you can put an instrument into an Effect slot.

Do all vocoders act as instruments? It seems that many are effects that are applied to the voice, and modulated with a midi signal.

But I could be way off base...

On Receptor, MIDI is passed to the first VST in the chain. So if the SOURCE is one of the AUDIO SOURCES (i.e. non-VST), then the first FX VST will get the MIDI. For example, if SOURCE=Guitar Input and FXA=GuitarRig, then GuitarRig gets the MIDI signal (as well as the audio).
Vocoders should be in an FX slot, since we can't get an audio signal into a SOURCE VST instrument.
