OK: I have the Receptor and just installed Kontakt 2 into it. I was wondering what path other people were using to import non-native sample formats into it? Since you can't read files on your computer through the Receptor (i.e. looking at the hard drive on your computer from the GUI on your Receptor) I was wondering what folder people were dropping things into? Or can a rom drive be hooked up to Receptor via USB?
Another thing, I have a ton of old EMU E4K CD soundsets, and when I put them into my computer's drive it can"t read them at all. If the computer can't "see" them at all, how will I import them into Kompakt on the Receptor?
Sorry if this is academic, but I'm really stuck here. Any help would be most appreciated!

Most people create sub-directorys in C:\Samples (I THINK you have write access to that right out of the box, but I cannot be sure since I gained root access to mine over a year ago and can chmod anything I wantaceha1 wrote:OK: I have the Receptor and just installed Kontakt 2 into it. If not c:\samples then for sure c:\my documents.
(sorry I can't help you with your other questions)

If the specific sampler or sample conversion software supports a particular format, it will read it even if the disc can't be recognized by Windows. For example, an AKAI CD can't be read by Windows, but it can be read and converted by Kontakt.aceha1 wrote: Another thing, I have a ton of old EMU E4K CD soundsets, and when I put them into my computer's drive it can"t read them at all. Therefore if your EMU E4k format is supported by Kontakt 2, you would need to perform the conversion on your PC, converting the data into the Kontakt format (.nki, .wav files).

And if Kontakt doesn't do Emu, you can get the Translator Pro app from Chicken Systems. But you still have to get them to the Receptor, and C:\Samles was locked on mine, had to get the app to unlock it from Muse tech support.
