I also use Zebra2 in Live, though on a Mac. There is something odd going on for you. Some plug-in conflict or something. Lots of people use Zebra2 these days on WinXP

You can try taking out the other plug-ins and trying Zebra then.

here I have a C2D and asus mb and midiman soundcard,
and both (Zebra and Guitar Rig) are working fine in Live 6.0.3
P4 3.2 Ghz - 2G RAM - Presonus Firebox
that should be fine,
I had a P4 before and Zebra was running there fine too.

what else could cause this problem?

Do you have other hosts to try if the plugs show up there?

you can try minihost / savihost / energyXT demo version for this test.

That would maybe show if it is a live problem or maybe one of you system.
or...

Hi Stefan,

i use a pentium D 2x 2,8 ghz with m-audio 410 firewire.
Zebra and Guitar-Rig work in every host except Live 6.0.3

Thanks!

Hi, Chris. Did you post in the Ableton forum? I don't want to repeat... and would like to give it a try if you haven't. Thanks.

I think theres another update that came out for ableton...6.0.5?
a.k.a. Airyck Sterrett

Post

had the same problem but with a PSP-plug in Live 6.0.2... I reinstalled live and updated it. Solved my problem. Try re-installing, might help.

Post

Thanks. I did install the 6.0.5 update and it changed nothing. I trashed prefs... A total Live reinstall.... Maybe, I'll give that a try, but what a pain. I have tons of VSTs and libraries...

Have you tried hitting the "Rescan" button under the file folder tab in preferences? Occationally I've had a VST that didn't show up and just hit that button to rescan and it worked for me.

oh and thanks for the tip on updating to 6.05! Was there ever a 6.04? I must have missed it.

Thanks. I tried rescan several times. Might have to settle for FX-Teleport version of Zebra2 on my second machine.

Don't think there was a 6.0.4

Post

Yeah I figured you tried rescan... just didn't see anyone else suggest it yet. That is strange.

FX-Teleport always comes in handy though doesn't it? It was the only way I could run some plugins during my brief foray into windows vista.

Yeah, I'm in demo phase with FXT and I'm definitely going to buy it. However, I get a 10% bump in CPU usage for each instance of FXT in Live... Do you experience something similar??? On the slave side though, I can run several more CPU pigs than if I was MIDI synching the VSTs running in another instance of Live on the slave.

Not yet, because i can use Sonar and Tracktion too (kind of lazy). Today i installed the Live 6.05 update, but it's the same as before.
