The Great Weekly "Is Komplete 4 done yet" thread

Post

Hey there,
It seems to me that the answer to the great question "Is Komplete 4 done yet?" is still not properly anwered yet. I almost got the feeling that Muse isn't even working on that anymore. I hoped for a NAMM release, but alas. Maybe a frankfurter messe release?
I figured if we all (at least those of you who - like me - own Komplete 4 and would like to get it working on the Receptor) keep bugging them about it, we'll eventually get a satifactory answer.
So please join me in this petition ;)

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, new to Receptor (received it last week) and at the same time purchased Komplete 4 and Kore.

Since Komplete 4 comes with all the instruments (B4ii, Akoustic Piano, etc...) and if Komplete cannot be installed on the Receptor, would I have to purchase individual copies of B4ii and Akoustic Piano, in order to run them on the Receptor?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Just so everyone knows our priorities: this plug-in is second in line to Komplete 4, which is hopefully going in to beta test in a week or so. All the new K$ plugs (all the updates plus massive) require a huge amount of testing to ensure that they'll work reliably, so K4 has taken far longer than we would have hoped or expected. The good news is that you'll be able to run the K4 installer on Receptor, as the service center, so all NI plugs from here on out should "automatically" work on Receptor.

....

Cheers

so they are definately working on it. I was convinced enough to upgrade my K2 to K4, which I just got yesterday. Hopefully K4/Receptor owners will have some very good news in a matter of weeks.

The problem is the "service center" installer. That is why Komplete doesnt work yet. We are told that a release is on the way. From what I understand, Muse has to change some of the functionality to provide for a way to make the Service Center work.

We are all waiting but right now, its not a matter of the instruments not working, they are just not registerable.

On note, once they are done, Reaktor should work.

To add to that, my installation of K4 yesterday needed me to upgrade to Flash 8 on my Mac for the service center, which is a flash-based application. I believe Adobe just recently released flash for Linux - which is what receptor runs as an OS (released commercially .. *nix tweakers have been finding ways to use it for a while), so that may have been a major hurdle for Muse. I might be completely wrong there and talking out of my a$$ ... but the ability to run the necessary version of flash on linux would certainly be a major part of getting it working.

Well, let's hope and see if they don't stall us for another couple of months. I really want to be using the receptor at rehearsals and live, but the only plugins that really cut it for me are the NI ones, which I nicely payed for :)

and what about the Italian Grand for Ivory....

Bought my Receptor last december..... my Kopy of Komplete 4 sits on a shelf above it looking forlorn....... (sob)

Alzared, you might wanna buy Kore and try installing Komplete 4 and Kore on the same machine and get them working together. That'll keep you busy for so long, Muse will have support out for Komplete 8 by that time. *snickers* (NI make cool stuff, but their support.... *sighs*)

I'm with you. I've already called several times inquiring when they would have the Komplete 4 installer ready. Let's keep pushing them. It doesn't make sense to buy a variety of Receptor compatible NI plug-ins (B4, Komtakt 2, etc.) when you can get the bundle for much cheaper. The question is, "How long do we have to wait?"

tru dat Skater!
I told myslef last year, "just be patient, most certainly by your birthday in 2007 you'll be able to use that new yet dusty NI upgrade you bought yerself." My birthday was 3/7 and alas, no installer. However, I did think of you guys when I blew out the candles. Hopefully that wish will come true.

keepin the faith! :|

Yeah Curois... had Kore already running with K3 on m y Mac G5 dual2gig...
To keep me amused while Muse sort out the K4 installer I'm workinmg out a Unified Field Theory and collecting all the dark matter in the universe and building a big black shed out of it.....

Alzared - forget UFT - it's obsolete. The true fact is - there IS no matter, We are all pure consciousness, and matter is simply waves you're in phase with. Seriously (tho I have no proof, I'm quite serious - i even have the Universal Theme Song - Nothing Is the Matter.) But while you're waiting for Muse, keep collecting that dark matter, we'll need protection from the sun as Glowable Warning takes effect... :D

I had the same question a couple months ago and after speaking with Muse, I got the impression that I would have to purchase each of the Receptorized NI instruments separately... at least until the Komplete 4 bundle is compatible with the Receptor. I've heard Komplete 4 uses a single authorization for all instruments in the bundle instead of separate authorizations for each NI instrument (B4, Akoustic Piano, etc.). Currently, I am using Akoustic Piano on Receptor and it works great. I've debated about purchasing some of the other instruments individually because I'm thinking it will be a long time before a Receptorized installer is available for Komplete 4. Too bad NI doesn't have a bigger discount for owners of the individual instruments included in the Komplete 4 bundle. I know you can get a discount on the bundle if you own two or more NI instruments... however, it would be nice if the price continued to go down with every instrument you already owned. I guess they do have to make their money. Bummer. =(

YEP i got Reaktor 5 installed...it works...loads and runs very darn nice.
I have a Rev. B receptor with only 256mem and its working nice with livecut and glitch on the same channel.

just cant register.
I added the necessary "Reg" into the registry for "Service Center".
the problem "IS" the receptor CANT load up FLASH PLUGIN since Service Center needs it.
Im still looking :)
