metrosechual...yes, the name instantly confers a cringe. How do you know he's one and the same?

Post

he joined within like a day of metrosechual getting banned, and displays the same antics.

Well, there you go. You have a better memory than I; I only remember most of the dicks around here because they're muted. But I'll never forget Babya, Rocktave or that Ishan guy. :smack:

Damn! Missed the Labbats...and we can't just go to the corner store and pick some up, like you guys. For a nation known for beer, we're not very free about drinking it.

solid proofs? or are you not good at this anymore.

metrosechual just go away ok?

Pipelineaudio,

just so you know, and to get back to where we came from, we don't have to actually keep fighting. It's easier to agree to disagree. This is a topic on preferences after all, and not of any type of scientific merits whatsoever (let's leave that to the DSP forum, and beta testing). In that sense, people screaming for proof and others proving them wrong is a futile effort.

as for the Vari-mu thing,

if you actually at some point went "whoha! there goes the manley", I would like to hear why you came to that conclusion. since you've already done videos, doing a quick audio snippet comparison will be a 10 minute chore. We'll dissect it accordingly.

well on this forum we have a problem of people getting banned multiple times and joining in under new aliases. The way you didn't actually take part on the discussion here but continuously jabbed in offhand remarks of dickheadism arouses suspicion, to say the least.

We could get back on topic though. There's a few things left to discuss. So how about that ReaComp then? :help:

Post

Yes, PLEASE can we talk about the actual topic again? Maybe one of you could start a new topic and lay this one to rest? Or maybe not. Just let us know. But I would like to learn more about this subject.

OK, how's this: What is the "pre-comp" for?

Post

Look-ahead...it's in Mr. Pipe's video.

Post

OK I downloaded the compression test loop

http://cmt.siba.fi/nisilen/DrumCompress ... iginal.wav

and here you go

http://stashbox.org/13156/a1.mp3

and

http://stashbox.org/13157/b1.mp3

One is reacomp one is varimu. Vari mu is set rather aggressively, attack max fast, release max fast, showing near 2dB gain reduction ( on the vari mu vu's...the PC's meters saw quite different story). I ran reacomp thru the same DAC/ADC chain so that wouldnt go weird

Doh, forgot a link to PC ABX if you dont have it...this will make the process a LOT more fun

how come the mp3's are at 48khz 128kbps? the transients are completely destroyed and the stereo image wobbles all over the place (you encoded it 2X 64kbps, ie separate left right... uh oh. very lofi). sort of defeats the purpose of an AB test.

I can host the original wav files if you've trouble with ISP's.

Post

if its such a huge difference between the two comps, it should be readily apparent with a 48k mp3
