Well, I have to point out that the phrase "attempting to bluff your way in a subject you know almost nothing about" pretty well fits your contribution to my request for information on nonstandard notation systems, in which (a) you failed to understand what I was requesting, (b) your comments were primarily concerned with undermining the validity of a request for such a thing and (c) your final 'contribution' after being asked to respect the context and subject of my request was blatantly childish idiocy.

How is that attempting to bluff my way in? I entered that thread because it piqued my curiosity, made it perfectly well-known that I knew pretty much dick about it, and then left when I concluded that it seemed like a silly way to notate something.

Attempting to bluff my way in would have been do something more along the lines of acting like I totally knew what it was and then making a bunch of bullshit suggestions which were shot down by people who understood the concept.
