Sparse and spacey piece - drums, guitar, and not much synth at all.

country-ish stuff. One mic, mxl 990. Toneport UX2, and lots of whiskey.

My Tracktion 2.0 ist just some days old, so these were made with my old 1.x NFR Version, some on an Duron 900 PC, others on my new Athlon 3500+. And certainly some freeware - softsynths. For my vocals I've used my TGX-81 and my Studioprojects B-1 mics. A Korg Wavestation is used as a masterkeybard.

Indie-rock stuff. All recorded and mixed in Tracktion.

I recorded a demo for a friend's band:

http://www.myspace.com/brackenhill

Recorded in their practise room using my laptop and an M-Audio Quattro USB interface (4 inputs: kick, snare plus a stereo mix of everything else).

I recorded the vocal for "Future" last night and sent them a mix this morning... not heard back from them yet, but its up on myspace already so I guess thats a thumbs-up!

(the "My Little Sister" that's up there at the moment is just the rough instrumental mix I sent them after the session... I think Rich got a bit carried away :hihi: )

It's New Year's Eve. The party is in full swing. The clock is chiming the midnight hour.

The Old Year knows it's time for him to go. He makes his way to the door and leaves, just before the last chime.

He walks slowly towards his car, looking straight ahead. But our attention is drawn to a figure moving in the shadows. We can't see who it is.

Yet.....

The Old Year gets into his car and drives away. Now the figure moves forward from the darkness. He moves towards the party, lighting a cigarette,

And from the glow of the match, we see it is......

If anyone still cares, I've got three more tracks.

Slippery Slope, a mildly reflective piece with electronic drums from AraldFX DKS, piano from AraldFX GrandElectrix, vocal pad courtesy of discoDSP's Vertigo resynthesising me going 'aaah' and acoustic drums from Sonic Capsule Studio Drums.

Number Unavailable, has a slightly industrial edge thanks to the metallic drum kit in NUSofting DK+, bass courtesy of NUSofting Modelonia, piano from mdaPiano.

Storm, a piece I started over two years ago and just decided that actually it is finished and I was fed up with it taking up space on my hard drive!

Haven't put stuff here in awhile. I joined FAWM.org with the challenge of writing 14 songs in the month of February.

3 down, 11 to go. Listen to them

Production is rough - concentrating on getting the songs recorded first.

Check out my latest five tunes here: http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?so ... 965&T=4321

These were all created using T2. Contemplation of all the power in T2 makes me weak and numb! Like I said - If I had T3, I'd think I had died and gone to heaven!

This is two tunes that I like stuck together in a way that I'm sure the purists would hate.

But I didn't do it for them!

Anyway, the first is called 'Aignish' and is a song about someone wanting to be buried back where they came from beside their family in the graveyard beside the sea (Aignish) when their life is over. The sentiment means so much more in the Gaelic.

The second tune is called O Mo Dhuthaich (Oh My Country) and is a song about longing for Uist, while living in Canada after being made a victim of the Highland Clearances. Again it means more in the Gaelic.

For those that are interested, the first tune is in 4/4 and the second is in 6/8.

I used my old Hohner cutaway electro acoustic (a real plywood treat!) and recorded it using a pair of Behringer C-2 mics. It's a bit hissy but it's the best I could do.

I also recorded some violin parts to help fill things out a bit. I used a Samson CO3 for this.

Oh, and of course, Tracktion!

Listen to me. I'm an amatuer pianist, but I produce music sometimes. I only use Tracktion 2 - I recommend it to everyone - I'm very tired - I'm singing out!!! :P

Is a thread the same as a topic? I'm trying to figure out how to get started here. Thanks.

clueless wrote:Just to reiterate what Jules has said, here's where Tracktioneers get to post the fruits of their labours. The rules are simple. Just post a link to your tune/s, and if you feel like it, tell us a bit about it, yourself, and any hardware or (other) software you used. If you wish to comment on a tune - and it's always good to give/get feedback - PLEASE START ANOTHER THREAD! That's it!

Happy listening,

Clueless

P.S. I may as well start the ball rolling...

Check out my latest tune, "Infectious Space" created using T2 here: http://www.acidplanet.com/artist.asp?PID=951882&t=7340

I guarantee you're gonna like it!

Description: This is one of my personal favorites. It's almost perfect! Listen at your own risk and be amazed as you enjoy the digital hard wire connection to my soul. Many long hours and a relentless obsession finessing the details. Conceptually, this tune hit me like a ton of bricks - Perhaps Stonesque in that it seems at times that it would take a miracle to get to the next bar! - know what it's like to really be free!
