kind of like a snapshot...but not really

i'm using my receptor live with a ton of things loaded up at once. on channel 1 i am using colossus with a multipatch loaded up in there. channels 3-4 are being used as well (pro-53, atmosphere). i'm using guitar rig on main fxa.
i'm wanting to do something like 'snapshot' on this setup, where i initially load up all of these patches. then i want to be able to do a real quick load that changes some of the patches, and some of the settings, without having to reload the big giant piano patch in colossus.
for instance, on 1 song i want a certain patch in guitar rig pulled up, with certain mixer settings. and then for another song i would love to be able to change the patch in guitar rig, and pro-53, and some of the mixer settings, all without having to reload the colossus multipatch.
is there a way to do this? am i just being an idiot and not knowing how to correctly do a search around here? if so, sorry!
anyways, any help is much appreciated.

I would love this also! Is this somehow possible? I am running Scarbee with the Scarbee FX on one channel, a sampled grand on another and B4II on yet another channel. I only use one at a time so I made snapshots with only one of the channels active. The thing I want to accomplish is switching the preset on Scarbee's keyboard fx without reloading the samples. Is this somehow possible?

Curois,
I think I'm doing something like what you want to do, at least with the Scarbee stuff. For the Scarbee channel of my snap shot bank (I have Ivory, Pro 53, and B4II on other channels) I load the basic Rhodes and instantiate the Scarbee Vintage FX in the FX 1 and 2 of that channel. I have a mixer setting where FX 1 is active (FX 2 muted) which gives me a straight "thwack" rhodes and another mixer setting (called through a program change) that has FX 1 muted and FX 2 active giving me a Phazed Rhodes. I could add a third instantiation to give me an additional rhodes sound. I know this doesn't help with the broader question here, but it can give you at least three quick rhodes variations without a reload of samples. I'm also seeking more eloquent ways to use my Recetor live - or at least get to more of its great sounds quickly, but I tend to utilize the large sample libraries which fill up the ram.

*smacks head* Brilliant! That I didn't think of that before
Going to make that adjustment tomorrow morning straight away. So far I only use two different effects from Vintage FX, so your solution is perfect for me!

It's what I do also, works great, except someone who may want more than 3 fx changes on a channel, in which case you would have to instantiate another channel with that plug and have another 3fx slots free. I still have'nt got round to using snapshot and somehow being able to change patches on instruments without the reload. Is there a way to send a midi message to the channel instrument for a program change? I assume it would work fine with modelled instruments like minimonsta and b4
