Magware Zebralette: adding/deleting points from waveforms

I bought an issue of Sound & Recording awhile back -- mainly for Podolski, because I was already getting Zebralette by purchasing Zebra 2. However the magware version of Zebralette has proven to be useful on my laptop, which is a 366MHz 576 MB G3 Clamshell iBook. That iBook can handle the CPU requirements of Zebralette, Podolski and Triple Cheese, but I can't use the Zebra 2 edition of Zebralette on it because the audiounit makes host applications crash. (The VST of the Zebra 2 edition of Zebralette will run on the iBook, but I can't use it with Numerology.)
My question: With the magware version, I'm not able to add points to GeoMorph or SpectroMorph waveforms, and with the audiounit (not the VST) I can't delete points. Is this a bug, or intentional design, or am I doing something wrong? I don't have this issue with the Zebra 2 edition.

That's really strange... hmmm...
What version of the system do you have on the iBook? Do you use a multi button mouse?

I run 10.3.9 on the iBook. I use the trackpad's single mouse button, so I control-click instead of right-clicking. (I usually use the iBook while commuting on the bus, where there's no room to use a mouse.) When I get home, I can try using a multi-button mouse.

Maybe this version hasn't got the add/remove point in the contextual menu. But there's a combination of modifiers with click that does the trick as well... check out the little manual that came with it...

Well, my German language skills are not too immense (I took one year in 12th grade) so I used Google's translator:
Anyway, not too big a deal. Since you haven't heard of this, it must be related to some characteristic of the iBook, which doesn't meet the hardware requirements of anything much these days. I'm totally happy with Zebra 2 and Zebralette on my desktop Mac, and I still have several options for using Zebralette on my indigo iBook.
That sounds like I should be able to delete a point from the context menu when I control-click on it. This works with the VST, but the "remove point" doesn't show up in the AU's context menu. And I should be able to control-click outside of the curve to add a point, but control clicking anywhere except on a point doesn't do anything.CTRL-click (Mac) and/or right-click (PC) on an individually selected point: Öffnet a Kontextmenü, with that the point to be gelöscht can or in its curve one affects.
CTRL-click (Mac) and/or right-click (PC) in the nothing: Point hinzufügen or Funktionen, which refer to all points.

A little bit off topic, but are these synths on every issue of keys, or just that one in particular?

Hi Urs,
I'm having a very similar issue to what Yasha described. I'm using the Keyboards/S&R Zebralette on a Mac Mini G4/10.4.8 with Live 6.0.5, and I too can't add or delete points in SpectroMorph or GeoMorph. I also don't get a pop-up menu at all when I CTRL-click anywhere - only a small symbol for a pop-up menu next to the mouse pointer, but not the menu
Clicking on an existing point displays the pop-up menu, but I am not given the option of deleting the existing point (or adding one for that matter). The interesting bit is that this is with the "default" waveform that's being displayed when I load Zebralette into a track - as soon as I select a preset, I at least get the option to delete existing points in the menu.
This is with both the VST and AU version - I originally bought the first issue of Keyboards that containted Zebralette and have actually gone out and bought the latest issue of S&R today in the hope that an updated version without this problem would be on the magazine's CD (your comment from Mar 1 gave me this idea), but unfortunately that's not the case.
I would really appreciate it if this could be fixed (maybe together with the UB version?) or that alternatively you would release Zebralette as a stand-alone product. I feel that Zebra2 would actually be overkill for me, and I really like the interface of Zebralette much better than Zebra2's (but then I see that the amount of parameters in Zebra2 doesn't leave many choices, and considering that, the interface of Zebra2 is very well done), so pretty pretty please!
Thanks a lot for your time and for the great freebies you have given us,
Martin

Yo,
There should still be the chance to delete points by a combination of modifiers and click (don't know right out of my head tho).
Also, there's a minimum of points. 5 or so. Meaning, you can't delete any points anyway on a fresh instance... or can you get less than 5 points anyhow?
It might be updated once, but that's on a pretty long list of things to do...
Cheers,
Urs

Hi Urs,
Thanks for your reply! You were right about the minimum of points. As I can't create any new points (CTRL-Apple-Click as the manual suggests doesn't work either), I can only delete points on existing presets.
For now I'll resort to using the Z2 Zebrelette to create sounds if I want to use SpectroMorph or GeoMorph, saving them and then using those presets in the free version. However, I'd still love to see Zebralette as a product that's sold separately from Z2 at some point.
Thanks,
Martin
