I'm with you, however as a representative of Kling Klang studios and productions, i hereby represent Kraftwerk as a techno electronica outfit.Echo Voodoo wrote:They're listed on this list of the 100 greatest progressive rock artists, the progarchives page, and on Wikipedia's list of progressive rock musicians, so I'm making the case that they are sufficiently prog rock for the purposes of the contest.Legion Hush wrote:They are definitely far from being a prog rock band (they are techno electronica) but hey, whatever it takes to get a Kraftwerk-ish submission is ok by me!
Considering all opinionated comments may entail the probability of court hearings, any differences in opinion will hereby stand mute until proper litigation is sanctioned.
If you wish to make a statement regarding this we can negotiate proper protocols to not withstand your rights to freedom of speech.
Until then, you will do exactly as I say and refrain from calling Kraftwerk a prog rock outfit.
If i make myself clear, you will call me "sir".

Aaaaaaaaaaand here's my first batch of reviews for this month:
Disco Arbys - LHUSH:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Indeed a cool disco tune, not really prog rock. Also, the filename wasn't in the format the contest prescribed. Having said all that, a very enjoyable tune that would definetely score high in a disco contest. Nice wah guitars, great vocals. Definetely cooooooooolll!
Tribute to Zelda - Kara:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure if I'd call this prog rock but a very nice instrumental piece of music. The flute feels a bit too dominant in the mix. I like the intricate arrangement, sounds like there's a lot of work in that. Very nice!
Alaskan Highway - Shane Sanders
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool track! I love the drums and that's a great synth lead sound you're using. I'd have loved to hear the 10 minute version of this one though... Great!
Why Are You Calling Me? - Echo Voodoo
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Not what I'd consider prog rock but a cool Kraftwerkian track. That pad sound you're using is amazing. The vocals are great too. Maybe next month a Kraftwerk theme? Nice track!
Sunset Flight - Khepira
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Great track! I love the sound of all the instruments in this one. The sax - great though it sounds - feels a bit out of place with all that reverb. The organ sound is great as is the bass playing. Pity about the ending which feels a bit 'let's just fade it out' to me. Still, very cool!

Marc JX8P - Timechange -> Awesome! Great change-ups, love the sounds. Well-played, very catchy stuff.
Legion Hush - Disco Arbys -> Cool stuff. Very funky. Does this song explain Travolta's weight gain between Saturday Night Fever and Pulp Fiction?
kara - Tribute to Zelda -> Catchy theme. Love the instrumentation. Well-played. Busy, but still soothing.
Shane Sanders - Alaskan Highway -> Really like that dark synth tone that starts it off. Nice drumwork.
Khepira - Sunset Flight -> Great instrumentation, lovely sounds. Great groove with the bass. Very cool.
groovesys - In One Sixtieth -> I like the lead synth sound and playing. Nice guitar work too. With everyone complaining about fitting a prog rock song into 2 minutes, you pushed it to 1! Bold.

The pad is courtesy of Nolwenn's PAD Synchoir 3 preset for Oatmeal. Just started fiddling around with Oatmeal again the other day, and liking some of the sounds too.Marc JX8P wrote:Why Are You Calling Me? - Echo Voodoo

I actually didn't have a chance to listen to any of the Feb tunes as I was completely swamped with FAWM. I tried to use the kvr mirror at the end of the month, but it was not working for some reason. So now you've given me a reason to go and download all the tunes one by one. I'll let you know what I think after I listen.adj wrote: You didn't even mention about how you heard the Freezey Samba Kit in my Feb entry!![]()
