The key phrase is fully - this is what I need (and it's not all that much)-
Rhodes with a decent sound
cc11 volume control
ability to change patches quickly internally (no further download, it's too slow, and I can't use snapshots)
That's all. Is that too much to ask?
Let's see - here's what's on my Receptor:
free -
Mr Ray 2.2 (also 73, et al.) - sound good, change patch but no cc1 volume
4Front Rhodes - nope
ePiano-nope
MrTramp - no control, no patch
---------
paid:
NI Electrik Piano - no cc11 volume
Garritan Jazz/Big Band Rhodes - no patch change, don't like the sound
Colossus Rhodes - no patch change, don't like the sound
Plugsound Free Rhodes --no patch change, no cc11
Longe Lizard 3 - sounds great, will contrl any way I need, and quick enough patch change - but it WON'T LAUNCH WITH A MULTI! Every time I restart the box, the program is there, but it will not respond to any midi data except patch change, and must be removed and reloaded before it will make a sound.
So I have NO electric piano for live performance unless I wish to lose some important part of my performance control - sounds, volume or authenticty.
Anybody have one that works that you can recommend? I like the DynoRhodes style of EP sound, not the DX& tine tones, so that's the criteria.

Sorry if this is dense, but why are you using CC11 for volume instead of CC7. CC11 is usually "expression" isn't it?thesoundsmith wrote:The key phrase is fully - this is what I need (and it's not all that much)-

I have found NI's EP to be pretty solid. They issued an update with some "lite" versions of all the patches that load really fast on Receptor and sound plenty good enough for live.
Bummer about LL3! It's "fully receptorized" and costs a pretty penny, and then has a major bug on Receptor. That's just not right

Hybernation - I use cc11 for two reasons - cc7 is sent by my keyboard's volume slider, I need foot pedal control of the volume, and 2) all my other plugs are using cc11 as well. Expression is volume with timbre (dynamics) change, generally, for complex sample sets. The general use of cc7/cc11 is cc7 sets the default volume, like adjusting the mixer fader, then cc11 is used to control dynamic expression while performing, which is what I need.
NI Elektrik sounds fine, but doesn't do quick patch change, requires a sample set load, so it won't do what I need. I use at least three different electric pianos during a typical set - a clear, dyno Rhodes, a thick chorused Rhodes and a typical Wurli.
What I really need is Lounge Lizard to work correctly (which is to say, that when I start Receptor with a mulri containing LL3, that it come up and WORK, not ignore midi messages.
sigh...

OK, word is they've fixed it, but it's not released. But knowing the issue is resolved helps greatly.
