Does anyone know of a programme which will output midi chords into piano roll in a sequencer? -would be very useful for non-musicians like me to use in developing chord progressions for strings / arps to form the basis of a track. It would be great to be able audition chords to see what sounds right and then export as midi ( hope i am explaining myself clearly)- i know there are programmes that plays chords but doesnt export midi. Alternatively Midi files of the various chords would suffice.

Many thanks.

I am serious here, but for basic chords you should really try to learn playing them for yourself. It's no rocket science and it also doesn't require *that* much of practice either. On the upside, you will then know what you're doing.

I'd say try SuperJam or BandInaBox or JammerPro or the likes. They all can export midi files to be used in any other sequencer as far as I know.

Chordspace does output midi I use it that way all the time.

You just have to set up the thing right and hit record on the sequencer.

What host are you using, JFM? Let us know and I'll show you how to set it up. As Toxi said ChordSpace does nothing but output MIDI.

So, but you do want to be (or become) a musician, right?
In that case, a certain knowledge (be it learned intuitively or by a bit of studying doesn't matter) surely does no harm.

I'm not saying things such as ChordSpace are of no use - in fact, ChordSpace is excellent. But you will defenitely be able to get WAY more out of it with a certain additional knowledge.

I'm having the same problem. It doesn't help that I'm completely unfamiliar with FL. I'll post an answer when I find it. Hopefully someone who knows FL better will come up with the method.

i've managed to record some midi into the piano roll , using maple midi port ...
however , i have some weird feedback loop happening , that i do not understand ...
it is perhaps a note-off issue ...
i'll keep at it ...

arrgghh ...
