beej:
1. The advantage is that you can visually cut the waveform in an audio editor and don't have to worry about amount of samples.
2. The disadvantage is that the sample data is averaged, so the more samples you cut, the less it looks like the original. The waveform will exactly match the original if the latter consists of exactly 128 samples.
Didn't understand about random waveforms. The program gets the real albeit averaged data from the audio file.

I added the -n switch to indicate the normalization rate for the wavetable. The valid numbers are from 0 to 1.
Example:
java -jar sconvert.jar -a input.wav -o output.h2p -n 0.98
All samples in the wavetable will be adjusted to have value <= 0.98

I have pictures & single cycle waveforms (audio) from the access virus...would someone be willing to turn these into zebra 2 osc presets for me? I'll host it and everything, I just don't know if I want to dig into using that program he made myself....
Let me know and I'll send you the files or give you a link to download them...
cheers,
~Airyck~

I am sure some users will convert the .wav files to .h2p for you. Just post a link for downloading the files. Maybe I can look at it later, but right now I am kinda busy. Would be interesting to see how the Virus waveforms look like. Cool that michkhol wrote another script for converting .wav filespsylevation wrote:I have pictures & single cycle waveforms (audio) from the access virus...would someone be willing to turn these into zebra 2 osc presets for me? okay, well here's the link to the Virus waveforms.
There are .jpg files of all of them, and single cycle waves as well, all zipped.

I'll load them on my server in a bit so the download wont expire, but I gotta head to work for now...

Note that many of these samples are small, and so won't convert. The first one, for instance, is 41 samples.
Sconvert will fail ("not enough samples"), and wavToZ2 will result in waveforms that are too short. So many of these waveforms will require some timestretching to work properly, so they'll take a little longer to do.
Most wave editors I've tried (Mac & PC) handle resampling small files (ie <200 samples) really badly. Adobe Audition is about the only one I've tried that mostly works reliably...
Also, there are pictures of 64 waves, although only about 35 seem to be included, unless there's additional ones contained in "All.wav" we'd have to chop up manually...

hello,
here are some things for Zebra - take care with so many that it does not get ill ....
homepage.mac.com/steff_3/downloads/illness.zip
those are taken from the absynth archive - seems like the phase is different to the pictures one provided here and the order is different - I think backwards counting in the block -> e.g. 1-10 is 10-1 or so .....
converted with the java tool - thanks for that .....
hope someone finds that somehow useful ......
best

Thank you steff3 - could be very useful.
A little observation (BR):
When switching the OSC_preset while a sequence is playing, the waveform-display of the oscillator is updated correctly but the sound does only change if i click the waveform-display.

Certainly useful here...thanks!steff3 wrote:hello,

I've found that with the PC version of Z2 that after selecting new waveforms, I have to switch the wave type ie. change from geoblend to some other type and back again to get the new wave to load - not sure if this is usual behaviour or not?
Mart.
