Hello,

A nasty crash bug slipped into the LUNA Unlimited PR7 release of yesterday.

So here already is an updated LUNA PR7b.

What's new
----------

* Tuned: Scrollbars zoom in/out optimized: If scrollbar is at start, it zooms at start, else it zooms at the center
* Tuned: Value2 Editor only shows relevant masks in mask list

* Fixed: Crash bug when zooming audio part

LUNA FREE PR7b can be downloaded from http://www.mutools.com/downloads.html

Tip: If you already installed LUNA FREE PR6 or PR7, you can just extract the LUNA application file from the new zip package and put that in your current LUNA folder, thus replacing the current LUNA application file.

Wow, fast work!

Apologizes for the frequent updates these days.

It's no fun having to update your software often, as that's a bit of waste of time.

But it was necessary as the updates have the goal to bring you a 100% stable LUNA.

And each time, the updates also bring more/improved functionality ;)

Hopefully, all crash bugs, including the random crash bugs of PR6, are fixed now.

Anyway, let's keep our eyes open, and regularly save.

And make groovy Music!

Hm, I still get the weird non-existent preset panel synfrome, can anyone confirm this?
I don't recall the mda plugs doing that in the earlier pre-releases. Also happens with Yohng's W1 limiter.

Marco,

I think it's this: When a vst plugin does not have a custom editor, LUNA uses a generic editor. It's in this case that there are no program select/load/save controls on the vst editor, right?

Towards the future: Because Steinberg has been so kind for 3rd party developers to drastically change the vst editor methodology on osx ( :bang: ), i'm afraid the program select/load/save controls have to go away from ALL vst editors (custom and generic) as soon as LUNA has full vst 2.4 support on osx.

Selecting/loading/saving vst programs will then be available via the plugs context menu.

Post

By jove - it actually does not happen with plugs that have a GUI, like crossfade loopsynth or RMIV. :-o :)

Where can I find the context menu, or is it still a few releases away?
I seem to remember there was something like that near the upper right corner of the arrange window in one of last spring's releases, I may be wrong though.

Select/Load/Save VST Preset is not yet in the VST plugin context menu, it's for a future release, cfr the explanation about vst editors on osx.

You recall right, once it was also located in the "Player Panel", as it was called that time.

But LUNA's concepts and workflow have been and are still evolving!

That's why it's still in a "pre-release" phase.

Maybe I'm off base, but I don't think any apology is required. Especially if you're fixing bugs that cause crashes, then the updates get the crashes out of the way and let all of us contribute meaningful improvements (not that I've had time for that lately, but it should get better after this weekend).

minor issue with Crossfade Loopsynth:
Trying to open a custom preset pops up an "unable to open file" error.
However, clicking "ok" in the dialogue and reloading the GUI shows that the preset is actually loaded.

I tried reproducing this issue.

Crossfade Loopsynth loads fine, and i can load a wave file.

The i saved the patch as a .fxp file. Then i reloaded that file. All just fine :)

Could it be that the message came from Loopsynth itself? Maybe cause of a missing sample?

Post

Jo - it only happens with my very own marco "default" preset that doesn't have a sample.

So I guess technically the sample is indeed "missing".

Case closed, thanks for pursuing this! :)

Jo, Kudos - 7b is the most rock-solid Luna yet. Used it to mix down a project for my band and it worked flawlessly.
