2 Questions and a Request

Question #1 and request-Would it be possible in the future for DK+ to read .aiff files? Question #2- When trying to layer drum samples (not velocity layer) one on top of the other I get only one of the samples playing at a time. Let me explain further. Say you have a snare sample that you really like the full bodied sound of and another snare sample that you really like the snappy attack. You want to layer them so both samples play at the same time and for the sake of argument let's say over the entire 0-127 velocity range. All the other drum samplers I own allow this to occur with no problem but with DK+ only one of the samples will play, sometimes randomly as to which one. Is DK+ designed to allow only one sample to play at a time per pad or am I doing something wrong? I can of course velocity layer samples...."snare soft" vel range 0-75, "snare hard" vel range 76-127 etc. Thanks for your help.

Q1 - you will have to wait for Lugi.

Q2- DK+ has a built-in randomisation feature as part of its internal design. One form of randomisation is to simply add samples to a pad, and not assign any velocity mapping. then, DK+ randomly triggers those samples. (The other form of randomisation is more complex, and involves using the 'velocity' values in the probability equation.) Now, the way you are doing things means that DK+ is randomising the samples. The only way I am aware of in DK+ to actually layer the samples is to have them on different drum pads.

I guess considering the size and price of the product, it can't be expecting to do everything - but what it does, it does very well.

so yes, to layer samples you need to use more pads,
but I could add a stack playing mode in a single pad in the future,

about Aiff, sorry you need to convert them to wav,
there are some free batch converters which make the job very easy

yes, and because the interface is relatively uncluttered with other features, it is actually a pretty straight forward way to go about it using DK+.

Woa relax. I never said that DK+ isn't a great value. In fact it's because of the excellent on board compressors that I want to start using it more. Hence the feature requests. Aiff loading no problem, I've already got converters. Sample layering would be nice, even the freeware RMF allows layering. If no one else wants the feature then no need to bother. I suppose I could always layer the samples in a wave editor and them load into DK+........or just use my FPC or RMIV.

I don't think anyone suggested that that is what you said. I just reflected on the feature set of DK+ and its price point, not directed at any 'claims' you were making or anything. Sorry if you took it the wrong way .
