Round three...
Nils_B: es_flossen_traenen - Nice guitar work and pretty nice vocals. Harmony is indicative of progressive rock as is the overall sound of the track. Would have liked to have heard the organ an octave up or a little more forward in the last instrumental section. Tune says all it needs to say in the time limit. Excellent execution and an excellent sounding effort!
Hovmod: Miromurr - Nice rocker! Would like to hear the synth a little more in front of the guitar so the melody speaks better. I really like the feel of this tune, excellent groove. I can see the flying cat zooming around, doing some mid-flight somesaults, etc. Nice!
tconrardy: Quintenssant - Absolutely great progressive feel to this. Excellent sound selection and mix. I would have liked to have had something more melodic to hand my hat on, but the tune manages to hang together well without any obvious theme. Great entry!
sttjelle: Fuz Travel - Well contructed piece with a definite destination. Might be my system but I would lose the bass or maybe there just isn't much movement to it. The cymbals would also tend to wash over things from time to time. All in all, though, the piece itself is well put together and represents the progressive genre fairly well.
Gucky: Come to my dark side - Well presented theme and funky groove. Nice melodic variation! Would like to have heard more fill/variance in the drums. I love Toxic but you must have quite the powerhouse CPU as it eats my machine up! Well put together. Enjoyed the listen.
Xnah: Lost Souls Dreams - Nice use of Stairway To Heaven material! Sond selections are relevant. The vocals are not my cup of tea but I recognize the attempt to take a Led Zepplin type of approach. I really like the guitar sound chosen! Would like to hear where you go with the rest of this!
Taking a break for the rest of the day as my ears are wearing out! Great stuff and a nice way to spend the day!

For those of you what may dig it and to give some context... here is most of what I was able to complete for my submission this month. I had a blast playing it.

me109 - The 70's and Beyond -> Effortlessly sliding through the different feels of this track, you are smooth, man, smooth. And you fit in some polka! Weird Al prog at its best.
Beardedone - Elizar -> Great groove, great playing, really cool stuff. Feels like one of those music-store-previews, unfortunately, where you come in part way through and get cut off before the end. It's a good snippet, though.

very nice of you to say, I enjoyed doing themkara wrote:Retropolis
This song is realy brought to a higher level by the excelent solo lines.
And you're right it needs a new needle(i only listened to the initial upload)
thx v muchmmichalski59 wrote:duncanparsons: Retropolis - Lots of ELP kind of things going on here, along with some Kansas guitar and synth. Very representative. Sound selection is very appropriate. The move into the violin/piano is a bit abrupt but the flow back to the A section works quite well. Moves well to the end. Excellent offering!
nowt wrong with AP! I did a tribute to him last year for the masquerade contest ('Antasia'mmichalski59 wrote:offthewall: The Setup - Guitar at the outset reminds me of Anthony Phillips (I am definitely showing my age, eh?)

Some more reviews!
ELIZAR - Beardedone:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, nice track! The feeling and the sound is really spot on. I love the lead guitar. Pity about the fade out. Great stuff!
Invocation of the Prog Lord - Barnadine:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brilliant! Love the sound, the arrangement and the lyrics. Incredible what you've put into less than two minutes. Top notch!
70s and Beyond - Me109:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Very cool! Great vocals, interesting melody lines and wonderful instrument sounds. Top notch!
70s Fantasia - Peppy197:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cool atmosphere! I love the sounds and rhythmic patterns on this one. Very nice, except for the ending which just cuts that great atmosphere off. Nevertheless, cool stuff!
The red king - Nikp2000:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't sound prog to me, but a very nice track. I love the synth pads contrasting with the rhythmic patterns. Also, I really like the guitar parts at 1:35. I also like the open ending, though it does leave you wondering what would come after this part. Great track!

Thanks Marc! The fadeout bugs me too. If you want more the only solution I have is to check out the "extended version" I posted earlier in this thread .ELIZAR - Beardedone:

peppy197 - 70s Fantasia -> A very moody piece, weird and freaky. Some interesting sounds. Has a very start-and-stop feel. Not my cup of tea, but certainly seems proggy.
Fritz Fiedler - Fanfare For A Fan Of Fairs -> Enjoyed the drum runs towards the end, very nice. A moody, twisting nightmare of sound. Again, not my thing, but fits the theme well.
