some time ago, ive installed 'zebra 2' (for fl studio). ive registered it correctly; and it'd been working all right, but since a while zebra's been playing very silently, kind of. ive reinstalled it etc., but it didn't really solve the problem. i dont know really whats the reason for it. any ideas there?

Try deleting this file (while FL is closed):

C:\Program Files\u-he\Support\com.u-he.Zebra2.midimap.txt

This may be related,when assigning a XY contol to Z master volume sometimes it cuts the sound even though the xy is centred.The only way to get it back is to wiggle the range sliders a little.

Running the windows updates solved the problem.

We even did a clean install of windows, but it didn't solve the problem untill the updates were installed.
