Dec 13th 2006 I received a PM from Midiworks, the contents of it are private.
We PM'd on a regular basis after that, but my last PM that was send on Feb 17th 2007 remains unread.
I wonder if there are more people that have PM'd with MidiWorks, and found that their PM's remain unread or unanswered?

I don't want to know what others have discussed with him, nor will I say what I discussed with him. I only want to know if the guy is still active on this forum.

No idea. And I couldn't give less of a damn, to be honest. Ok, if something serious happened to him, that'd be bad.

His last post here was on February 20th. Which, for us KVR addicts, is an eternity. I've made fun of the ampsim in this thread, too, but I'd hope he's okay.

I'm also concerned about Spe3d, who hasn't posted since December. We knew he was sick, but not how sick.... :(

Of course he is. He's probably still alive and kickin' around here too. Just can't use that old username because people give him shit all the time!

What exactly is he kicking?
At least he's not kicking out this amp sim. For easy to understand reasons, too.

Sascha, how dare you?

Don't you know that Midiworks will release his ampsim very soon? Why all this unfounded skepticism, pessimism and negativity? :?

He will?
Now, that's freaking great news!
I mean, I hadn't have anything to do in 3 years at all. Finally, this amp sim will regain me some jobs, it seems. Cool news!

I will be publishing my first book on the MidiWorks subject soon: "The Amp Sim Delusion". It's about how a substantial number of people blindly follow the delusional belief in the "Amp Sim", a fictious, even virtual device, even though there is absolutely no evidence whatsoever for the existence of such a thing. These gullible people belief in it, they worship it, they are willing to turn their whole lives upside down because of it. In my book, I will show that this delusion is not just a harmless misconception; it can actually turn into a violent, deadly delusion, causing seemingly normal behaved, rational guitarists to want to fly their Flying V's into Marshall towers, or blow up - amidst innocent victims - their tube amps and guitar cabinets, which they consider to be like "golden calves", sacrilegious, desecrating items in their delusional Ampsimism.

The book will show how guitar tone gradually evolved by a process called "audible selection", from simple humble beginnings, where only a few basic components, like condensers, resistors, and vacuum tubes "accidentally" got tied up to form tone-inducing circuits, into more sophisticated mechanisms, reaching ever increasing levels of tone, sustain, quality and beauty.

The book will furthermore show how it is possible to play normal, rational, happy and fulfilled guitarlicks, without the havoc-wreaking belief in any non-existent Amp Sim.

The book will be available in most book shops soon, maybe even as soon as by the end of this century.
