Hi all,

I'm in Canarias right now, and Aldo seems so busy that he even not writes to me,

but I'm sure he's working also on the DKS

Post

Have a good stay in my country. :)

I've been fiddling with DKS Pro a bit and it's very interesting, but there's one serious drawback IMO: handling of multiple outputs. You cannot get 3 outputs with three different instruments out of it. Two at most, 4 if you settle for mono outs, and forget about the master out because you cannot have a sound play on aux alone, it always plays through the master out no matter what you do.

Maybe I'm missing something? I've been playing with it for a short time...

Is there any way to get 6 separate sounds out of it? Or at least three?

Cheers!

you can have 6 mono outs using hard panning and NO master FX, you can still use the voice FX: Dist, Bit, Shell, EQ

(if you can't then Aldo has a bug, <grin>)

Well, it's not a bug, it's how mixers work [aux-es], but the catch is there's no option to put a sound on an aux output and lose it from the master output . It's always there. Maybe he should of done it like everyone else? e.g. simple pull down menu or one more parameter for routing of every pad directly to multi-outs and that's it :D. Mono outputs would be cool, too, even though I'm kinda used to panning sounds left and right to get them in mono.

The mixer in DKS is just overally unnecessarily complicated IMO. :(

ok, thanks for the feedback, we'll surely think about that on the updates, <grin>

There's a simple trick to send a sound only on an Aux: turn the send prefade button on, turn the volume fader all the way down and use the send level as a volume fader ;)

For us Mac guys, how does the retail AU handle multi outs? The demo is stereo output only so I can't get a feel for it. DKS Pro sounds great but I would be seriously disappointed not having individual outputs for each pad/aux. If there's no/limited multi support I'd suggest having an assignable out for each pad, similar to RMX. That way you could, for example, group all your hihats to one channel in your DAW. For me this would be much better than having each pad hardwired to an output, e.g. microTonic (which is still better than nothing).

sad to say that there are comunication problems with Aldo, has been more than a month since I talked to him the last time.

Few words about, Aldo is a "long distance" friend and an expert collaborator, he helped me with some programming like for DK+ and Modelonia, so I help him with araldfx.com and its great synths, it has been a great collaboration so far,
but I'm just an external in the DKS code, I mean I can't issue GE or DKS updates by myself, he have to.

Anyway I saw a site update yesterday
http://araldfx.com/faq.php
so I guess he's still alive and able to write ( at least on his site )
