line is busy all of the time!

sorry, just frustrated

open it up, press on ribbon cables etc on the motherboard to make sure they're seated firmly, pop out the ram and pop it back it. I had this problem on day 1 after signing for it. freaked out, but got that advise and it fixed it.

p.s. make sure you ground yourself .. or at least touch something *else* metal to discharge any static electricity before doing that!

well got a hold of rick from muse. was a really nice, helpful guy. he gave me a few things to try (check the bios) but i'm not able to do that until after the studio session since there's no vga monitor and keyboard here. he offered to call me late tonight to help me out too. nice guy.

ok so looks like rick's advice helped. for future reference here's what i did:

-hooked up a monitor & keyboard directly to the receptor.
-while pressing the power button on the receptor to turn it on, i held down the DELETE key on the keyboard
-in the bios settings i had to change 1) the date/time to the correct date, 2) had to halt on NO ERRORS (turns out the receptor wasn't booting because it couldn't detect a keyboard.
-saved and exited.

now i'm just worried that this might happen again at a gig and i won't have an external monitor or keyboard. anyone know why a bios would change settings like that?

ok, another update for those interested.

woke up this morning and turned on the receptor just to make sure it works still. well, it didn't. didn't keep the bios settings. called muse, they told me to replace the battery in the receptor. so i went to walgreens, bought the $3 energizer cr2032 battery, popped in the receptor.

now so far it's working like a champ again, but we'll see if it still does after sitting for a few hours and i need to turn it on again at the studio. crossing my fingers that's the end of that!
