Pretty nice anouncement from Mr. Grabowski, depends on the (update)-price, as i have ESC III . Too bad i have directwave also, this sampler is the biggest competitor in this price-range i think. I also have EMU-X, i dropped this sampler because of too much hassle.

I'm guessing that if it's not in V1 maybe V2 will be a real nice paid upgrade. We can always ask for it. It's not like he'll have a lot of trouble writing the code.lordvader48 wrote:Too bad it doesn't sample. The way things have been going, I'll bet it doesn't have any form of sample editing or host drag-and-drop either.
Well, at least it's not called a "sampler"... YET.
Yes, don't be sure. They say they have functionality of the ESC integrated, which indeed HAS Sampling/Sample Edit functionality.

O.k.
I don't really know a whole lot about samplers,
o.k....I don't know squat about samplers. In the
sample format list it states plays .fxb files,
what does that mean ? I doubt that it means it will
load and play ANY .fxb file does it ?
I am asking cos if that was the case, in that it
would play ANY .fxb file, then that should also mean that I could eliminate some of the VSTi synths in my folder,
and just keep the .fxb files ? again, that seems
unlikely.
could someone clear that up for me please ?

Probably the fxb file support is just for Halion, as I've bought some sample sets that included both .nki files for Kontakt and .fxb files for Halion, both using the same samples.system20 wrote:O.k.

...I think they're refering to fxb's in Halion format (and probably other supported sampler that also save fxb's). but it definitely won't play any fxb's created by softsynths, if that's what you're asking for...

Hi,
I don't know if this ESC sampler will or will not read EXS24 format. If it doesn't than I would like to see that feature at some point, as well as NKI with NKB (the embedded bank of sounds)

If this thing has the ability to save K2 patches and samples out of the monoliths, some of us might be able to seriously de-clutter our hard drives.zircon wrote:Nothing handles Kontakt monolithic libraries except Kontakt itself, which is why it's dominating all other samplers...
An example being the East West freebie, the 2 Gig one.Sure would be nice to be able to just save about 4 patches+samples and dump 2 Gigs of. nki monoliths.

This is going to be my next purchase. And to answer some of the questions everyone has been asking, I've been informed that the system will cost 29.90 Euro (about $40), and both ExSC and ExPlayer will eventually have the ability to map samples. Their new format will be read/write cabable from within both programs. This is as I understand it. Sounds cool to me! I'm ready to buy!

been waiting for this for a while and so far my brief time spent with the demo has been very positive playing back sf2's and kontakt files.
One UI issue that really bothers me though is lack of mousewheel support in the file browser.
I also wouldn't mind a way to remember multiple favorites folders. Right now searching for sounds is kind of tedious.
Just a couple nitpicks, though.
