How do I make a copy of a sequence and change it without changing its parent?
Every time I try to figure it out it results in a total mess.

Marco :)

err... shift+drag , right?
I think I got it..

:D

However, I remain puzzled by the apparent absence of an option to merge sequences?
Maybe I've hit on a bug, maybe I'm just missing the obvious.

Go into sequence #2, select all, cut. Go into sequence #1, paste. Is that it? Or do you mean end-to-end ("splice"?)? IIRC Paste pastes at the current time position, so set that to the end of sequence #1 and paste.

right...will check it out thanks! :D shift+ drag seems to be a viable option though..
Any idea how I can merge sequences? I still think a glue tool
would be ace!

édit : err shift and drag, not shit and drag  :hihi:

A specialized sequence merge function is on the whishlist.

But pljones' suggestion is definitely a good one.

Hi,

Otherwise pljones's suggestion works, but I couldn't find a way to always get cut notes pasted in the right place. It might be that this was because I had shifted timings and the first note in the paste-sequence wasn't on an exact measure.

To remedy this it would be handy if the cut (or copy) /paste function could be made to work on bar length, so that you can cut/paste from measure 1 to 4, instead of from the first note.

I'm not sure if I was able to explain well enough what I meant...

Yes, i understand what you mean.

Well, in PR 8.3 You can set the Play Position as exact as you want, not only on beat boundaries anymore.

So if you know that the first event is off grid, you can paste it at any place by properly setting the Play Position.
